  • My name is Paul Allen... and now im scared! :I

  • @oAllenUKo LOL really? XD

  • check mah dubs

  • Batemans little dance at 1.24 just makes me laugh so much every time I watch it!

  • I think he's going to need more newspaper.

  • Why was he so pissed off at that guy?

  • @TacoBananaMode He had a better business card and he got a reservation at a very exclusive restaurant that Christian Bale's character couldn't get. So he axed him in the face. Way to over react, no? Haha.

  • @ClericOdie To clarify, he "fit in" better. Bateman craved the glory he felt from blending in with the crowd, from being the best of these people he views as elite.

  • 1:19

  • Jared Leto has been killed or injured in nearly every film ive seen him in.

Panic Room = Bullet to the head

Thin Red Line= Shot to death

Requiem For A Dream = Arm Removed

American Psycho = Axed to death

    Highway = Feet Broken

  • @FailHouseBurger you forgot Fight Club = face beaten to a pulp.

  • Jared leto always getting his ass kicked

  • Killer 80's style. Dead Paul's hip in subliminal square formation in front of camera, as Patrick lights a cigar. It's not "hip" to screw with Patrick Bateman.

  • Get it? Patrick BATEMAN?

  • Press 5 and check for Dubs

  • @sirdag Niggah you just went full doubles!

  • batman doesnt kill people, burce wayne does

  • Press 1: "You like Huey Lewis and the News ?"

    "No."

    Press 7 for reaction.

  • HEY PAUL!

  • i just love patrick's ethusiastic voice when he says:

    allen: is that a raincoat?

    patrick: yes it is!

  • check em.

  • This scene is sadistically hilarious.

  • 6 people do not get dubs. Check out mine by the way.

  • Press 5 and check 'em

  • Check my doubles

  • @EmperorJim @DerGeckarbor please no squabling on my video.

  • The funny thing is: He doesn´t see the art in music, he only sees the money in it.

  • Jared Leto died.

  • This has ads?

  • Hey, you know what's retarded? 4chan.

  • @EmperorJim gtfo in /soc/

  • @DerGeckarbor What? Sorry, I don't speak retard.

  • 1:19 check 'em!

  • Is it just me or is Patrick Bateman psycho?

  • 1:19

    Doubles get.

  • @RamiusChase

    Second that

  • he must have heard one of Leto's albums wha???

  • ITS THE DOUBLES GUY

  • Yes it issss!!

  • 4 ppl who dont like this have to be killed like p. allen

  • best scene ever

  • Christian Bale > Jim carrey

  • "Plus Christian Bale being brilliant." LOL:)

  • He should have murdered Huey Lewis.

  • best scene of the movie

  • that's the power of love

  • 20,644th viewer. I find this ironic.

  • 1:17 SO THAT'S WHERE THE MEME IMAGE MACRO IS FROM!

  • didn't get his suit bloody very smart

  • doubles guy

  • Is that a raincoat? Yes it is!

  • you know, i used to think he screamed " try saying that patrick bateman's a dork now , you fucking stupid bastard ! " which would've made sense too since when they were at dinner paul did say that. but then i found out he didn't say that . ah well.

  • HEY PAUL!!!!!!

  • 1:20

    Doubles

  • @pixelnigger *sigh* someone HAD to point that out.

  • YOU FUCKIN BASTARD

  • Perhaps the greatest scene in cinematic history.

  • patrick bateman is just a little unstable

  • did anybody else notice how he sounds a little bit like jim carrey in this scene. Also might i add, great movie

  • Hey Paul !

  • "HEY PAUL!"

  • You can't murder someone and not play 80's music. It's just no fun.

  • you know, I used to murder people while listening to music from the 60's, but then I read your comment, so I tried out 80's music.

you were right! it's just so much better!

  • Lol!

  • lol why wouldnt the director like the moonwalk, I died laughing when i first saw it hahaha

  • @SpankingDmonkey It was the author of the book that didn't like the moonwalk. He apparently approved of the movie though.

I read the book first and it is absolutely brilliant. What the director of the movie did was to film it faithfully, but to also make it a reflection on modern society while keeping the original 80s setting. Oh and the lines spoken in the movie are from the book verbatim.

  • i have to return some video tapes ^^

  • is that a raincoat - "Yes it is" ^^

  • Christian Bale is too good. Just how did he not earn an academy award for this movie? The academy sucks anyway, Christian Bale for president (amend the Constitution).

  • what is the song ?

  • @Royalhacker76 Hip to be square by huey lewis and the news.

  • @Royalhacker76 Are you deaf?

  • omg. -.-

  • American psycho and The machinist are both state of art movies. Christian Bale is one of the actor of all time. He's weird but so intense when he does a film.

  • i agree

  • 1:37 hey paul... lols... ☺

  • Anybody think bateman coulda just totally immolated pauls body on the spot cause, ya know, he died toasted?

  • Ths scene reminds me of a dream i had about killing my boss.

I shouted "Try bringing me in on my day off without paying me overtime now you fucking stupid bastard!" while putting an axe into his face.

  • Is Paul drunk?

  • yeah

  • This is my favourite scene from any movie of all time.

  • Ya like Huey Lewis and the News?

  • you listen to beck?

  • Their early work as a little too ''New Wave'' for my taste, but Sports came out in 83' i think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Castillo but I think Huey has a far more cynical, bitter sense of humor.

  • Elvis COSTELLO -_-

  • 00:34

kay just lemme go grab my axe..

  • My senior chemisty teacher's surname is Bateman. But he's David Bateman.

I wish so bad he had've called his son Patrick.

  • "Try getting a reservation at Dorsia now you FUCKING STUPID BASTARD!!" LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah! Christian Bale is briliant!!

  • He kinda reminds me of jim carrey in that scene :)

  • I guess it took about 30 Seconds To Murder that dude.

  • Oh man, that's gold.

  • arent you thinking of jake gyllenhaal?

  • You're not funny...

  • I know, I'm serious.

  • @ClericOdie And you're not a rapist....sure

  • actually no. thats jared leto in this scene.

  • i love his expression at 1:41...sick fuck!

  • "Is that a rain coat?"

    "YES IT IS!!"

    jajajaja

  • 1:47 axe has no blood on it

  • my god, that was brilliant haha

  • Goddammit I hate Hip to Be Square.

More like 'the pleasure of not having to become an individual'.

    Great scene though :)

  • Can anyone tell me why did Paul Allen call Bateman Alberstrom or something???

  • Playster3

It's simply because one of the most recurring themes in this story is mistaken identity.

For example. Even when he confesses to his lawyer at the end, he is mistaken for somebody else and all of his colleagues believe that Bateman is too much of a coward to do something like this.

Almost all the people Bateman works with are so wrapped up in their own little world to the point where they don't even realize who someone actually is.

    Hope that helped.

  • Thanks a lot for clearing that up! It helped very much!

  • You're welcome.

  • isnt there also the thing where you dont know if he really did it or if it weas all in his head

  • i havent read the book or watched the movie with the commentary on yet, but my guess is that since his life is extremely "routine" and everyone else in his life has the same routine, he fantasizes about murdering and brutalizing people

  • Kindof, in the book, much of the plot explores basic mundanities that he does, like renting videotapes, or making reservations and then cancelling them. He's just screwed up, in essence. It's basically about the twisted nature of his society, the ending emphasises that... the reader/viewer is, in a way, left to question if it really did happen, and that's the point... how can he have killed so many people and have it go unnoticed?

  • You´re right, but not only are they wrapped up in their own little worlds, they also all dress alike, go to the same places, drink the same drinks, go to the same gyms, read the same mags, buy the same brands...

  • One of the reasons he chooses to kill Paul is because Halberstrom is a rival of his. Paul can't tell the difference between the two, as they both wear the same suits and go to the same barber.

  • except Batman has a slightly better haircut!

    :)

  • and a better sense of humor....sorta

  • a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

  • bale's character was pretending to be someone else and thats who allen though his name was halberstrom

  • ohhh half face covered with blood the other half not, is that suggesting split personality?? ohhh

  • @alamol93 Hey, I never noticed that before...I think you're onto something. Not necessarily split personality, but his 'mask' coming loose...

  • 1:11 is amazing

  • his subtle dismissal of paul allen's opinion of Huey Lewis and the News at 0:22 with the facial expression is understated and priceless

  • best scene out of a gr8 film

  • My mistake, DOESN'T take his meds. I thought I saw him grab a pill or two... Oh well.

  • Just a few things to say:

    1) I think it's great that he takes his meds right before killing Paul

    2) "Yes it is" at 1:14 sounds so enthusiastic

    3) The whole scene is made hilarious with "Hip to be Square" playing in the background

    4) I love this scene every time I see it because I get to see Christian Bale kill the lead singer from 30 Seconds to Mars :)

  • The bale is a legend!!! "See ya then" hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha

  • His music speeches rock!!!!

  • Does Christian sound like he has a lisp? When he says "consumate professionalism... gives the songs a big boost".

  • He has a slight lisp due to his natural welsh accent, which he hides when he plays americans.

  • have you seen harsh times? he does a very good performance in that movie. He speaks spanish in it and has a very good accent.

  • he is a british actor doing an american accent, cut him some slack

  • That a fucking nutjob, i love it!

  • YES IT IS!

  • The only part of the movie that author Bret Easton Ellis didn't like was Bateman's moonwalk during Paul Allen's murder-scene.

  • Really? I think it was a nice touch.

  • hey paul

  • There goes any chance of a new 30STM album haha.

TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW YOU STUPID BASTARD!

  • haha Is that a raincoat? Yes it is!

  • i love this

  • lol huey lewis in the background
