at first i kindda reluctant to watch his show. coz i have to pay 150 franc since the official ticket was sold out. but when i saw this interview and he sang grave digger, i was thinking "what the F*ck".. i just bought the ticket and watched his concert. what a great concert...
@gedebongpisang Congratulations your are officially a Dave Matthews Band fan. Cause that's how it gets. Welcome to the club. Every year when I purchase my tickets I'm alway pretty devastated and broke for the remainder of the month cause there is no warning and I always have to come up with a couple of hundred dollars on the spot. I'm like WHAT THE HECK!!? But this time the concert is about three weeks away in Aug 2010 and I bought my tickets back in February. Yippee!
@filmtress I have a question for you, me being a new DMB fan: Is it possible to get good seats to their shows by going online the minute the tickets go on sale? I'm not into the lawn seats, so I really want to get decent seats to one of their shows on the next tour. 2012?
@headstock48 Well it helps if you are a member of their fan club. It's worth it. The cost is $35. per year. For this you get first dibs on the purchase of tickets before the sell opens up to the public. However, it still is not based on a first come first served basis. There are thousands of fans and they've been loyal for years. I've been a fan memeber since 2005 or 6 and I must say that I get pretty good seats. The ones who gets the best seats have followed that band since the beginning.
Con't #2 To add to that, each year the fan club members get a gift from the 'Warehouse' specially designed for the members. One year I got this nice pen that lit up with the band's logo and name. Usually there is a photo and a special cd of a few of their treasures included It's worth it. Also, last year after attending a concert in Los Angeles, the Ellen show contacted us members and invited us to a backlot performance of the band. So we got to see the guys up close. That was the best.
@headstock48 lol, Well you might be on to something there. Well it only took me five years. Good news is that those thousands of fans are distributed around the country. So in your particular locale there could be only 60 long time fans. So you could very well get great seats immediately. But once I started purchasing my tickets through their fan website, my seats became pretty decent. Best Wishes. (lol, I'm still laughing at your comment).
@filmtress Wow. Thanks again for all your help. I'm going to join. A backlot performance? I'm envious! Sounds lovely. The other thing I'd like to do is see Dave and Tim. Maybe it would be easier to get tickets to those shows? Well, you've been great. Rock on.
When she mentions Roi, he just changes, really sad to see :-(

Dave is struggling to find the words that express life without a great friend...it's hard to move on with a deep loss like that.

One shouldn't think Matthews was such a hard name to spell. It's spelled Mattheuws at 0:48
