Drove thru Trona in 2005 on a fly-drive holiday to the states. I tuned to my wife and said 'if we break down here we are going to die'. But I soon noticed how strangely beautiful it was. I might go back one day.

went to trona to watch a large school ridgecrest, from 20 miles away,who elected to play its playoff basketball game at the trona gymnasium,,,a large old style wooden bleachers type gym,,,it was an attempt at getting an edge on ritzy,well to do school from orange county,,trabuco hills,,,,,the boys from trabucco got off their chartered bus and their jaws dropped,,,its like they got dropped off in hell,,,i heard one say,,its like were in the movie hoosiers,,,culture shock at its best

To be honest, I think he fits in with the whole vibe that Trona puts out. The town, I mean. I lived out in Ridgecrest (beside Trona) for a year, the place is riddled with lunatics.

I saw this film several months ago. Check it out if you see it playing in a theater (preferred over DVD viewing).

#2. I once went to Trona (the actual town in the Calif. desert), and told the young woman in the cafe where I ate that "I always wanted to come here", which, ever since seeing the name 'Trona' on the map, I did.

She said "Really? Everybody I know is trying to get out of here."

Except for the plant that processes the salts from Searles Dry Lake, there ain't much in Trona.

Looks like an interesting film, did you use the dvx100b for this film and If so Im guessing you used the 24p function. I really like the pallet on this film. Good job.
