Yet Lanny was never bitter about it. He made good money with the then WWF, jobber or not. According to him, it's when Pat Patterson started booking that the Leaping Lanny character was moved to jobber status (no clue why Patterson would job a talent like Lanny...oh well). He still feels that he looked better jobbing to the likes of a Terry Funk (who Lanny claims elevated him to Funk's level) than he would have beating no-name jobbers.

I went to several WWF/WWE House shows over the past 20 some years, and back then, they would start the show with two enhancement jobbers facing each other. One such match featured Poffo VS. Iron Mike Sharpe. I never understood why those two were made into jobbers, they both definitely had the talent to at least be Intercontinental Champion.
