Secret Dreams is a d*** good song, and one of the few songs I can think of that has angst, euphoria and nostalgia all rolled into one. Wow... Powerful! ^_^
I can't believe they don't like this album! Im just shocked. How can you not, when "Only Lonely," "In and out of love," "always run to you," and this song are on it?!?!
i think they were pretty much peerless at this stage in their career.excellent.ive been listening on and off for 26 years!saw them in sheffield england in 1986,just as slippery was breaking.i was one of the few singing along to pre-slippery material.crowd went nuts for the obvious "you give love" ect.yeah...feel fortunate to have seen them when they were still the "proper" bon jovi.there was a bootleg video of that show on vhs.if i ever find it i will post it.1 of about 5 copies.
This is such a feel good song, the melody, harmony and instrumentation is just fantasic... one of their best songs... this album does quite beat Slippery When Wet but it is one of their best and it's different I love this album... wish they would play this song live as it would be awesome :)
May sound strange since thier HITS were LIVING ON A PRAYER and WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE and that kinda stuff....but THIS is probably my favorite song by these guys. And 7800 DEGREES is definately my favorite album. Just straight ahead guitar hard rock. THEN....they went commercial.............
@JoeyTroy It's interesting, because Bon Jovi's most popular songs; You Give Love a Bad Name, Living On a Prayer and Wanted Dead or Alive, were from his Slippery When Wet album, but I agree with you. My favorite Bon Jovi albums are definitely the first two, and after "Slippery When Wet" Bon Jovi went down hill with all his commercialism. My favorite songs are Runaway, Roulette, Secret Dreams, Tokyo Road, Get Ready and King of the Mountain, all from Bon Jovi's first two albums.
they were never metal, glamrock is the word for that period, now they are a fucking solid rock band that can kiss the 80s goodbye and stand proud, cause they are still the biggest touringband in the world!
Man this song really brings back the memories of my high school days. The eighties were a great time for music and the big hair band and I grew up listening to these big haired bands. Bon Jovi was one of the great ones.
