if we make it legal there will be more deaths, crimes, and just a bunch of other crap that goes along with being high. thats all people will use it for is to get high. maybe like 15% will be used for medical stuff. legalizing it is just dumb. it might make the USA more money but are you willing to risk lives to get more money? im deff not. and we should treat people illegally crossing our border like any other place...punish them somehow! dont give them jobs/ benefits and crap. plain stupid!

Dont we do that already with current legal drugs? Medical marijuana in CA was legal until the Feds decided that their laws superceded the states and now I believe we are back in limbo on this issue. There must be a hidden agenda on the part of the fed gov't to not want all drugs to become legal. Afterall, once prohibition was abolished crime rates directly related to bootlegging plummeted; murders, robbery, etc.
@janespeaks The hidden agenda is profit. Medical Marijuana is legal in California as well other states & the Constitution states that the fed has no business meddling in states rights issues. But the feds dont tell you that their growing Medical Marijuana @ the University of Mississippi or the they allow the FDA to purposely grow it to extract the THC for pills like Marinol or Sativex. Legalization forces the feds to quit playing both sides of the War On Drugs, bringing back accountability.

When people go to ballot on the issue it is never approved because to many people dont fully understand that the govt has no right to tell u what u can or can not put in ur body. If the government patrolled the borders with the relish they kill women and children in afghanistand and iraq then in a year the illegal popultion would practically halt. Additionally illegals would have the right to leave by choice if already here and if they did not and were found would be flogged then ejected.
@sweetypie000 You have to remember, the government wants the illegals to immigrate because of the drug running & underground cash flow their bringing in. Dont think for a second that militarizing the border is the best solution, when the current system of immigration is lucrative to government in more ways then one. If the countries who are emigrating werent corrupted by the drug cartels that America is arming, there would be no illegal immigration problem imo.
