@lsbridges The first two double-steps are moving left or right depending on which foot you start on (you didn't indicate). The third is a STEP that you CROSS IN FRONT (the XIF is what that means). The next "S" I would STEP out to the side and the last "S" I would STEP in back. It just indicates to cross it, but that would be the easiest place to put it. Whichever foot you step in back, the opposite foot will then do a KICK (which could also be considered a CHUG -- lift KICK leg and slide S leg.
This was a great lesson. I have been taking lessons for two years and absolutely love clogging. Do you happen to have a lesson for Monroe's Hornpipe? I am having great difficulty with the "fancy step".
@lsbridges I don't have a lesson for Monroe's Hornpipe....sorry! If you could write out the cue for the fancy step, I can probably help you through it though.
@GypsieDaughter I'm not sure who sings this version. It's been in my possession since I first started clogging, but always had copies of the song and never the original. If you can figure it out ever, let me know! :-)
@tapman77 This is the terri gibbs version of rocky top. It is not available on mp3. I'm not sure where to find it unless you know someone who is willing to give you a copy. Good luck and happy Clogging!
@onlyoneme72032 You're right! It is an old standard in clogging, and it was choreographed by Joann Gibbs of Georgia. Every clogger knows some version to this song, even if it's not Joann's. Thanks for visiting the site!
I love this!!! Where can I get the Terry Gibbs version of Rocky top? I can't find it on Itunes. :(
Thanks for all of your video's I love them. You are a great teacher! :)

Thanks for your help. As usual, I was making it harder than it was.

I'm going to try this again: "Fancy Step" DS DS S(XIF) S S (X) KICK. I hope this makes sense to you.

@tapman77 I keep getting an error message from YouTube. I have a fax machine or maybe I could send the whole lesson via e-mail.

@onlyoneme72032 The Cue Sheet I have gives credit to Joann Gibbs for Choreography. The dance has been around for many many years.

Love to choreography, but find the clapping distracting. You're a good instructor.
