Have you taken her to the vet? If it is a luxating patella it will only get worse. She might be in a lot of pain but hiding it. You can have you vet tell you what you need. Maybe some anti inflammatory drugs or possibly surgery
@freddyphredphred Yes, I take my dogs to the vet regularly. She's always had a luxating patella. Dr. said it is a level 1 right now, but if it gets to be a level 4 then we will have to have surgery. I do have some pain meds for her if she does this again. This video shows the first (and only) time in 5.5 years that she had ever limped. She limped for about 2-3 days and went back to normal.
The Neurologist wanted to do an MRI that we would have to drive a couple of hours just to get to for $3700. I could not afford it, especially after paying $400 for a couple of x-rays, a vet visit & referral, and the neurologist consultation. This happened 3 weeks ago and Jack is almost fully recovered with just a slight limp with his front right paw. My whole point is sometimes it is better to wait and let them rest, unless they are suffering and crying.
Glad to hear that it was only temporary. You do have to be careful with these little guys jumping off of furniture. My Yorkie puppy "Jack" jumped off the recliner chair injured his back. He then started the next day with falling over and stumbling to not moving at all . Took him to the vet and a neurologist, they did x-rays and saw nothing. I chose to wait & let him do kennel confinement first.

i thought my papillon was faking it too.. turns out she wasnt and had 2 rear luxating patellars, she needs surgery. you should take her to the vet.. it may keep getting worse.
She's had her knee slip out maybe twice a year, but then it just goes back into place when she relaxes. It lasts for ten minutes, not two days. I fear it is getting worse. Either that or there is something in her paw that hurts, like a sliver? Is that possible

She has a luxating patella...I am about 100% positive. It is very common in small breeds and will only get worse if it is not fixed surgically.

hello from germany....my girlfriend has a yorkie,too.
Its normal that the patella kicks out.Call the Vet and let it fix.But theres no guarantee that it never comes back....
They have to small legs, and if they jump down from a chair etc. it can ever come again....

I think she needs physical therapy. Or maybe she's trying to take the attention from Oprah ;)
