Yes, you might die the first time against a monster with Death Level 5, Petrify/Heat-All etc. but once you know such a monster is there, you can just equip the relevant abilities and breeze through it. Seriously, the abilities system was OP with Auto-Regen, Return Magic/Auto-Reflect&Reflectx2 etc

Which leads to the game's battle system to be broken, but the story, music and pretty much everything else more than makes up for it.

@HedjaHead No, no no no. The materia system was WAY OP. I think, with some moderation, the Draw system could be easily the fairest battle system, but it's kinda shit.

@HedjaHead No it isn't, Finishing all side quests? How about the Chocographs (especially Whale Whisker and Ultima Weapon) and Ozma? Mognet Central? Yeah, Kuja is very weak, like 6 people do 9999 damage to kuja and he will die, Necron is very weak too, just use quina... But still dont judge the game by only one of its aspects, but the game as a whole. Like in Statistics, All data is included, not the only one with extreme values.

Let Vivi win,because Coral Ring(the award when you let Freya wins) can be obtained in the main story , no late after this event ; at the same time,the award obtained when Vivi wins is a card that can be obtained at the final part of main history(is also a powerful card if it get experience).

3. Fight those weird bird things and have quina eat it for limit glove ability

4. buy a ton of phoenix downs

5. Keep killing quina and rez him until his hp is 1

6. save the game where you fight the grand dragons.

7. use limit glove that does 9,999 damage on grand dragon.

8. Finish disc one with all your characters level 60+

@TheSonicfan1994 It's not a problem at all, believe me, the last time I played it was on an emulator called ePSXe, and the gameplay was good on that emulator, you just have to download the game or if you have it, you can run it from CDs or create images from CDs... etc, if you want help you have my support, and one last point, your PC must be a little powerful to handle the emulator, not that powerful though.. good luck :)

@erhablablam The only rare card in the game is Namingway. Every other card can be gained infinitely from playing against NPCs on disk 4.

Some have to be obtained from bosses (I'm pretty sure only Ozma can give you the Ozma card) and one or two simply have to be found. Also, I believe there are two chances to get a Namingway card but I can't remember.

@Antiformed Beast Master Gilbert in Treno has Ozma. I'm quite serious about Namingway being the only rare card - look at the "Card Locations" FAQ in the FF9 page on GameFAQs.

Of course, even though 99/100 cards are available infinitely, many of them are rarely used by the NPC opponents, and you'll spend a while sitting there until they use it.

Twice actually. It played during the boss battle with an optional superboss named Hades. Go to the water room in memoria where quina is swimming and thinks its drowning. Go around the rock and keep pressing the button until you get a voice saying "who dares disturb me from my slumber." be carefukl you won't have any notice mark.
