The writers of "Days" came up with the character of Victor Kiriakis after Stefano "died". The show needed a new villian. Victor was a really BAD guy when he first showed up in Salem in 1985. He even worked with Stefano in the past. In 1991 when Dr. Marlena Evans turned up alive after being presumed dead in a 1987 plane crash Victor admitted in court that he knew all along that she was alive and being held prisoner by Stefano. Victor changed for the better but he can still be a bad guy.
I only started watching Days from about the 1989 episodes so I guess the worst of Kiriakis was over by then cuz from what I've seen since, the Kiriakis are not in the same league as the DiMeras. The DiMeras are far more powerful! Plus, there have been more DiMeras than Kiriakis since I began watching:
Kiriakis: Victor, Justin, Philip
DiMera: Stefano, Andre, Tony, Lexie, Peter, Kristen, EJ, John + their minions (Rolf, Bart, Patrick Lockhart and of course, John!).
This is not Tony! This is Andre living Tony's life and making everyone believe that he was Tony. Andre had Tony, his cousin, held captive on an island for the past 20 years.
Love the Tony/Victor scene, so cool to see these two go head to head never missing a beat.
