He could go to LA, STL, Boston, Philly, or even Detroit and have as decent of a chance to win a title as in NY. Especially if it were the Mets, where there's no chance, who always end up on their knees gargling someones balls by the end of the year. Had the Twins or Cardinals spent the money NY has spent over the years they would've clinching by early Sept. Getting to the playoffs with only one WS over the last 10 is not impressive for 200mil/yr. Mets spend almost as much cant even compete for the division! Teams that spend far less money and work hard get respected, not NY who buy the best players and barely get in.
