It was so much better than 13 and I swear when you've seen the story line you won't hate FF anymore.
I can't compare it to 12 because 12 was different to most, but it is at least ad good as 10. It does have some flaws but they aren't major and are easy to be overlooked.

As much as I love Final Fantasy VII, it doesn't put any of the other ones to shame, as they aren't meant to all be exactly the same in the first place. Compare FF VII to FF VII spin-offs. Comparing it to any of the others is ridiculous.
Yes, the game was good. Is still good. And will forever remain to be good. But seriously, it's unrelated to the others except in title and in game-play. Get over it.

@PanzerChrist80 There's the Beginner's Primer, which you can read the events of XIII before starting XIII-2. Although don't blame me if you don't like the ending of the sequel... the rest of the game is amazing, other than that.

The first Final Fantasy I fell in love with was VII, and I still love that game.
BUT that doesn't mean I hate XIII or think it's the death of the series. It was different. XII was very different from previous FF's, XIII was different. It offered a different experience and was created by a different team. If you didn't like it, guess what? Get the fuck over it and move on. It's like XIII is the only thing the haters seem to think about.
XIII was the most linear and tedious game I've played in a very long time. Complete waste of time and money (and before the trolls start I've played almost all FF's) I'll wait on the reviews but if its anything like the last one it won't be on my shopping list

@Lowlightindicator If you're worrying about linearity, don't. The game is open ended enough, a bit too much at times, but not XII open. If you're worrying about it beying tedious, also don't, you can do everything at your own pace, stories, side missions, minigames, you name it. Battle system is slightly faster and it isn't game over when the controlled one dies, you can change leader in mid battle, you can sort of switch off autobattle and tons of "pokemonsters" provide fun.

played it , its just as bad as 13 i love how there going on about being able to free roam so much now with "different options" as the last one was so linear , basically admitting that it was rubbish . please squaresoft make a good ff game again! with turn based combat, a decent leveling up system, more memorable ff characters ( make them interesting!), and bring back nobos musical talents!. i know this is a waste of time but why not, its all been downhill since 12
