RCMP Staff Sgt. John Ollinger seems to believe he's above the law, and can make any shady business dealing with the likes of Tom Steadman, 'PowerHouse Realty', and the the drug trade with impunity. Most ironic of all: He's 'President' of Active Support Against Poverty.
Anyone care to know what he did?

i jumped out of the top floor window and nobody was screaming in there, the ones that got out were out before the fire got too bad, so i have no idea what you're talking about

that hotel would be 100 years old in another 12 years. i think it was arson.

I drank alot of Ben Ginter's fabulous draft beer in that place, 1970-72. An article in an October 1970 Toronto Star Weekly described the distance from the front door of the Columbus Hotel to that of the Europe Hotel across 3rd Av. as the most heavily police-patrolled 56 feet of street in Canada! PG was one honking village then! God's mercy be upon the dead, as well as eternal rest!
