  • As the writer of this song I find all this response so very amusing. You all make my day and I think someone should bring back drive-ins. I know there are still a few left in certain areas of America. How can you compare the confindment of indoor theaters to the summer outdoor comfort of your car. WOW ! Those were the days.

  • these comments are so entertaining... my Canadian friends who just moved to Plattsburgh have learned it by heart - but I want to find the lyrics... Does anyone have them??

p.s. I brought my friends for their first michigan red hot yesterday at Clare and Carl's!!

  • Magnifique chanson aux accords sublimes. Est-ce une compo québécoise ?

  • @hebdosports

Oui!

  • @ptidv1

Mettez Chantal dans ton cul! Tu ne sais rien du Plattsburgh!

  • Va te faire foutre Diskodoll! YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HER!

  • @tonyjoeleo

  • @tonyjoeleo means not literally 'go f*uck yourself as well (crisse de face) I'd say shit face.

  • be beaux souvenirs pour moi........

  • I had been searching for the English version for a long time. Sometimes I thought I just hallucinated remembering it - the 60s were like that. Glad to know I remembered it right.

  • My dad took us there often. Saw Devils Brigade, The Garduate and Planet of the Apes. Too bad it is now gone.

  • You know what, this is a song about a little town that gets no songs- I love it! So it's campy! And by the way, we miss our drive-in here in plattsburgh! Someone should take the Crete Center and turn it into an indoor drive in!

  • I don't understand a word she's singing, but I don't care. She's gorgeous, and I love the cool sound of that Vox organ playing all those quirky 60s chord changes.

  • Sure is and I am from Plattsburgh

  • @IDLERACER

Chantal Renaud was Québec`s first lady for a couple of years not too long ago , married to Bernard Landry .

  • Nice to know a belle jeune fille appreciates the North Country!

I could go for a michigan red hot right now!

  • Does anyone know where the translation is on the internet? I can't find it. thanks.

Is she talking about how cool plattsburgh is?

  • she's talking about her drive-in movie experience there in plattsburgh. eating junk food, smoking pot, sitting close to her man while watching an action flick, that sort of thing. pretty good song actually, it's a minor classic from the 60's ... early 70's ?

  • Ok, I just saw the video ... wow, this has to be the worst video ever made, lol ! Quite funny though, t'made me laugh ! I still like the song even if some people consider it one of the worst songs ever made. :-)

  • She's talking about how cool drive-in movies in plattsbugh are. Popcorn, michigans, and making out. There were no drive-in movies in Quebec until the seventies. That's why I wrote and recorded the song in English and Chantal did it in French. My plattsbugh was a "B" side and got no air play but Chantal's was a big hit.

  • Hi mygenes9,

Do you know who wrote the French lyrics?

Is it true the song was recorded by Doris Day? Same title?

    Thank you!

  • Chatal Renaud wrote the French lyrics and no Doris Day never recorded Plattsburgh Drive-in Blues.

  • Thank you!

  • Chantal's French version of "Plattsburgh" was released in "69 but later in Feb. "70 Gene Williams sang the original English version of Plattsburgh Drive-in Blues on a Montreal chanal 12 TV show hosted by Jim Mckenna. The show was called Like Young and maybe this video will some day re-appear.

  • bravo chantal!

    j'ai eu du fun!

  • I don't know french but this totally made my day! lol

I can't believe a Canadian actually took the time to make a song about Plattsburgh let alone a Plattsburgh drive-in.

  • "Do you take Canadian money?" ; )

  • Pensez-vous que Chantal Renaud fumait du pot?

    Ha!

  • Ma chanson préférée de Chantal Renaud. Très cool!!!!

    Merci

  • What is wrong with this hooker? She sucks.

  • @Diskodoll

Ostie d'anglais! Tu ne connais rien de Chantal Renaud alors Shut up!

  • Comment removed

  • lol yeah shut up Diskodoll. You know nothing about Chantal Renaud! That must be hurtful to hear boo hoo!

  • @Atomikguy

Asshole!

  • what an a**hole

  • @Atomikguy

    a**hole toi-même!

  • @ptitdv1 Si tu n'aimes pas mon avis, que ne lizez pas!
