@rcoffroads These modified Clod Busters are essentially just the Clod gear boxes combined with an aftermarket chassis such as those offered by Thunder Tech Racing . com and Crawford Performance Engineering . com.
From the ground up, brand new, it'll probably be around $600-1000. However, there are Clods that show up on ebay from time to time that are about $400-$550 roughly.
@tjsmonstertrucks You can, but not as a mass produced product like other RC vehicles. It's essentially the Tamiya Clod Buster gearboxes combined with an aftermarket chassis kit. Some people build theirs on their own from the ground up, while others purchase a prebuilt truck either from another racer or on ebay. Every now and then a modified Clod like a one in the video may show up on ebay.
@tjsmonstertrucks To do a front flip, you grab the brakes hard immediately after leaving the ramp. To do a backflip, like in the video, you essentially stay on the throttle and hope you have enough wheel speed to rotate the truck completely. Angle of the ramp, suspension setup, and power all play a factor into successfully completing a flip as well.
Unfortunately, the indoor winter season for 2010 is over. There might be an outdoor series if there's enough interest, and the next indoor season for 2010 should pick up again around late 2010.
Building a truck from the ground up can usually range anywhere from $600 to even up to $1000+ sometimes depending on what parts, pieces, and electronics are used.
However, a prebuilt truck, usually used, can go for about $400-$500 on places like ebay.
