I totally agree. I only started watching hockey a few years ago because my friend dragged me to a game...my Minnesota Wild against her Blackhawks, and I was instantly addicted after watching Gaborik. His hands, his speed, his positioning, he is awesome to watch and I am so sad that we lost him!

The only reason why no one thinks he shouldn't bethere is because he's never played a full season and he was playing in Minnosota. That's all about to change though this year, as he's doing great with the Rangers

no he's not the fastest, Scotty Niedermayer beat him 2 times at the NHL allstar speed competition, hell his old teammate wes walz was even fatser than him on his own team, obviously doesnt have the hand sof Gaborik but you get the point, he's one of the fastest but certainly not "the" fastest.

I love the signing of Gaborik. IF he and the Rangers can keep him healthy then they should be a much improved team. Prospal will be a good replacement for Betts. He can kill penalties and score more goals then Betts. And their defense should be improved with the help of some young kids that know how to play D and are adding speed and skill. All in all it should be an interesting year for Ranger fans. Especially with Torts and coach. What Ranger fan isn't looking forward to this season?
This year, they are an absolute complete team. Sather left some cap space in case of either injury issues, or if the centerman prospects don't live up to there potential. The chenistry isexcellent with kotalik just added. They have strong anticipation and soft hands; you don't need an amazing center if you have this around scorers like gaborik.

Sorry, I just don't see the Rangers being that good next year. Gaborik will play only about 60-70 games. This is one of the most physical and competitive conferences in the league and the Rangers will have a hell of a time competing with the Flyers and Penguins. I also just don't see your scoring improving, it may in the regular season but don't forget Gaborik isn't the kind of player that will win you a championship, and he disapears when it counts due to the physicality in the playoffs.

Your defense is not good. Sorry to break it to you. You ask any rangers fan and they will admit the defense needs improved, besides Marc Staal. Why do you think the Rangers are constantly looking for a defenseman. How did you improved that weak scoring from last year? Basically swapped Gomez and Antropov for Gaborik and Higgins. Even if Gaborik and Higgins are better they both suck in the playoffs and probably won't make it through a season healthy. Rangers also have no depth down the center.
The Rangers were ranked 6th overall last years in GA, there defense is fine. They lack the depth at center, which Sather could try to fill. They need a first line center specifically.

Seriously Koivu is a much better player than dubinsky. Not saying Dubinsky sucks or that Koivu is the best center in the league but the problem the rangers have is the same one they had last year. How are you guys going to beat elite teams with average defense and average scoring ability. Gaborik is only one player and if he does play 82 games (very doubtful) even then he wouldn't help that much more than last year. He won't score you guys 3 goals a game and Henrik won't win you every game.
dubinsky is still young. How do you know with a great player like gaborik he wont thrive playing with a player that good, besides unlike a dany heatley who probably needs a center to compliment his game, Gaborik is one of these rare wingers who actually make the centers better.
Please don't get hurt again. The last thing we need is to of been rid of Gomez's contract, only for you to be hurt so much that we are back to square one in regards to wasted cap space

Very true. I agree. Redden and Rosy should go, and I saw a rumor that Rosy could be going. That would be GREAT! I don't like him very much. But you have to admit, we look much better than last year.
I'd take last year's team over this coming season's team. There are too many holes to be filled with the lineup we have right now. We still need a good center and a powerplay QB. We'll have at least 2 rookies on the backend too.

secondly, other then staal and girardi our defense blows(redden and rosival) they are both slow as f***, can't pass and always turn it over.

If you watch the video closely, its more about the ability that Gaborik has to get open. Pavel Bure used have the same trait to come out of no where and get hit with an easy pass at which point he did his thing.

Marian Gaborik is a dynamic player when healthy he is one of the best! There is no player like gaborik in the nhl! I'm from minnesota everyone wants to trade gaborik, but you can't get rid of him he means too much to this team! They can't score without him! When a player scores 5 goals in one game you know he's special!! It wasn't a fluke either it was against Henrik Lundqvist in my opinion one of the best goalies in the league!

we still have great penalty killing forwards.
drury, callahan, dubinsky, avery, brian boyle, and i think gaborik can kill penalties too.
we still have 3 lines of forwards that are capable of working the PK.
and if thats not enough for you, the guy is gonna contribute to the PP.
i think our special teams are gonna be just as good as last year
and we definitely need scoring, and gaborik helps provide that.
for once im pretty happy with most of what glen sather has done this off season.

Koivu is better than Dubinsky please, and if he stays healthy he is great, BUT MSG has some of the worst ice in the NHL don't count on it!

Seriously Koivu is a much better player than dubinsky. Not saying Dubinsky sucks or that Koivu is the best center in the league but the problem the rangers have is the same one they had last year. How are you guys going to beat elite teams with average defense and average scoring ability. Gaborik is only one player and if he does play 82 games (very doubtful) even then he wouldn't help that much more than last year. He won't score you guys 3 goals a game and Henrik won't win you every game.

dubinsky is still young. How do you know with a great player like gaborik he wont thrive playing with a player that good, besides unlike a dany heatley who probably needs a center to compliment his game, Gaborik is one of these rare wingers who actually make the centers better.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. This was a great first step in correcting in many of Sather's mistakes. But the rangers are still miles behind the elite pens, red wings, hawks of the league. If they can get rid of Redden by next year and sign Kovalchuk then we can start contemplating a cup in NY.

Very true. I agree. Redden and Rosy should go, and I saw a rumor that Rosy could be going. That would be GREAT! I don't like him very much. But you have to admit, we look much better than last year.

I'd take last year's team over this coming season's team. There are too many holes to be filled with the lineup we have right now. We still need a good center and a powerplay QB. We'll have at least 2 rookies on the backend too.

i feel your very wrong..in 17 games last year he had 13 goals..that woulda been like 5th on the rangers last year..so anything he does is a plus..when he is healthy he is a top 5 forward in the NHL..and explain to me what GREAT defenseman the wild have? i think we have a ton of very good very young defenseman Gaborik is gunna have a blast in the up tempo Tortorella offense

first off im a die hard rangers fan, but all rangers fans are the same, they think that everyone they sign will save the team only to be disappointed, it never fails everytime, a la gomez drury were supposed to be our saviors.
secondly, other then staal and girardi our defense blows(redden and rosival) they are both slow as f***, can't pass and always turn it over.
thirdly, i agree anything he does is a plus because we need scoring, but our d really isnt that great at passing but....

in the videos most of the passes were really nice, and i dont think our d is capable of that. I wouldnt go as far as to say gaborik is top five, maybe top 10 but i think he will do good in torts system especially with zherdev who can really pass, but these people that say he will score 50 goals i think are crazy personally maybe 40 if we lucky imo.

i think he would be good with gaborik because while zherdev likes to hold the puck he is also a great passer and can set up gaborik, and i dont think gaborik minds as long as he's getting chances lol, idk if u mean anismov but gaborik is a good skater if you were talking about anismov im not sure how fast he is either.

girloy and staal, are great puck movers, redden used to be morris was a great tape to tape passer. The prospect we got from mtl is supposedly a rediculously good offensive d man that can make great first passes, but teh main thing is how he turns it up a gear, he is explosive

If you watch the video closely, its more about the ability that Gaborik has to get open. Pavel Bure used have the same trait to come out of no where and get hit with an easy pass at which point he did his thing.

Even if that is so it is a bad move.The Sedins are undervalued by a lot of people,but they make the team better.Getting Gaborik as a support member is fine,but as a substitute is not.Only due to how injury prone he is,because he has loads of skill no doubt

I live In Pittsburgh and am a diehard Pens fan but I love the Wild 2. I honestly hope Gaby sings with the Wild because thats where he belongs. I would love him to be a Pen 2 but Minnesota is where he belongs and it will be a shame if he leaves.

its horrible that we are getting rid of gaborik for next season. he made the biggest comeback in the last like 12 games of this season. Gaborik said he doesnt wanna play for the wild anymore. Same with Jacque Lemaire. He is leaving our team also

Marian Gaborik is a dynamic player when healthy he is one of the best! There is no player like gaborik in the nhl! I'm from minnesota everyone wants to trade gaborik, but you can't get rid of him he means too much to this team! They can't score without him! When a player scores 5 goals in one game you know he's special!! It wasn't a fluke either it was against Henrik Lundqvist in my opinion one of the best goalies in the league!

To Minnesota: Tomas Kaberle, Pavel Kubina, Alexei Ponikarovsky, Alexander Steen, and a 2010 1st round draft pick.
To Toronto: Marian Gaborik.
Good trade for both sides. Minnesota gets two awesome defenseman in Kaberle and Kubina, two decent top 6 wingers in Ponikarovsky and Steen, and get out first round draft pick in 2010.
Toronto gets Gaborik, and become elite.
