@magnetmannenbannanen Thanks for the tip mate. I had noticed how glitch free they are, but didn't know about the lesser power consumption. It was a matter of cost at the time, and I wanted to get Futaba. I will definitely buy a 2.4ghz setup next time i need to buy tx/rx. Thanks again.
@MrPistonHead123 They are Proline Flat Iron 1.9's. I started with a new Tamiya kit and with all the goodies i bought it owes me over $1000au, but as it runs here with just these parts, probably $400-$500.
@MrPistonHead123 i can't say it would be impossible, just impractical ! i think rccaraction did a custom txt-1 based nitro crawler a long time ago. just google it mate !
@durst71463 it's a spring steel antenna for RC cars with a screw clamp adaptor for the receivers antenna to go into. i think it was $10 from a hobby shop. thanks!
As I've understood, and what it seems like looking on videos here on the tube, many people drive quite fast as if they were in a hurry or something. So when i saw your video i was happy that at least one person knows how to drive properly :) But as ypu said, everyone is free to drive however they like.
@dragon0r4p3r I can't help you with the Gelande, that's a question for RC4WD as they make the T-Finder chassis and the Gelande bumper. But i can tell you that i am using the Proline Western Bumper :) it isn't just a bolt on job though. You do need to make mounts. Cheers !
@Majktheman Thanks for the compliment. I totally agree on it spoiling the scale look. I don't get the point of building a scaler or crawler, and not driving to scale, or not crawling.
I like to achieve a climb with traction 1st, and momentum 2nd.
But each to their own !! I won't argue with a person who likes to drive fast, thats their style.
@JakeBmx97 rcpcrawlers have the parts individually. just search hilux on their site. I started off with a whole tamiya kit from tcscrawlers many years ago when they had them. thanks
Damn, I also have a cheap RC4WD (in both ways, it either goes fast or slow, by a switch, and I can't go slow/fast with the control). And I don't have the right terrain around here. But this looks really nice :)
It looks fake, as in you just filmed a real truck. Nice work.

What radio system do you use?
corybechtold 1 month ago
@corybechtold Futaba T4EXA 4 Channel FM.- 36mhz. Don't use around planes :D Keeps me clear from all 27-29mhz glitches
jezwah 1 month ago
@jezwah i would reccommend the newer 2.4 ghz systems, theyr interferrence free, and they use the fm band so they require far less power.

did you have to build it because it says kit on the thingy
dan97nichols 8 months ago
@dan97nichols kit indeed means build. If you buy 2nd hand, save you $ and building..but the 1/2 the fun is the building

jeffnohio 9 months ago
@jeffnohio they are the pro-line flat iron tires in 1.9. From their website they quote 4.20" x 1.52" - that is like a 42" tire in real life.

Great Video!. At the beginning I thought it was full scale. You did a great job keeping the tires scale to the truck.

Really like your driving, slow and composed, not racing like most people do with their crawlers. Spoils the scale-look i think.
