I'm going to have to watch this movie again because I can't keep my eyes off Charles Groden and I'm missing it. He doesn't even have half of the lines that anybody else in the movie has and he's the funniest of them all.
how the fuck is it possible that this masterpiece is an unkown movie?how the fuck can this not be top 3 in every de niro movie/role etc list?the simplicity, the fulness of characters and relationships all perfectly intergrated in the story.
i love this flick for its characters - all sharp and tough in their own way - and for the laughs nonstop thruout but this scene ... this scene blows me away deniro and the kid but grodin and the wife too man it's effing touchingly beautiful grodin's 'im a white collar criminal' im off the stool laughing deniro & the kid at the car im trying not to bust out cryin' i LOVE this flick and particularly this scene t/y for th share
You guys can check out my documentary "Michael Jackson Symbolism" in which I will highlight the connection between Deniro, Pesci, Scorcese, Dileo and Michael Jackson who are really good friends knowing what's going on out there.
I have so much respect for De Niro even though he took part in a lot of movies but recently he repented and gave a speech about regretting taking parts in some movies and this movie is a pure comedy making fun of the different corruption happening in the FBI and the Mafia even though it doesn't shed light on some of them working together in parts but the comedy and drama in this movie makes you feel good and makes you rewatch it again and again, God bless you Deniro!
This movie shows how Jack is a true loving father because he didn't accept the money from his poor daughter although he was in a lot of troubles and could have ended him to jail. Respect
@GothChristianPatriot Ive seen this movie dozens of times and it never gets old.... the daughter scene is heart wrenching .... every scene is worthy...not a single line of dialogue is wasted
that would have been interesting if the movie was 15 minutes longer in total and they showed Jack go back to Chicago to pay back his ex wife the money.
@RAIDERS7009 That's why this is one of my favorite movies of all time .. as hilarious as it is, it still has it's sentimental parts and an outstanding story. Not to mention, one of the best endings for any movie.
"Phone is tapped". That's my favorite scene out of the whole movie. lol. "Where am I?, I'm in Boise, ID, no no no wait a minute I'm in Anchorage, AK, no no wait I'm in Portland, OR. So now you're gonna have to pack up all your shit and go home cause I'm onto you DUMB FUCKS! Eddie, you're phone is tapped."
'well let me describe the scene for you, theyve been up for like 2 days, they stink of bio, they have coffee breath there constipated from sitting on there asses for so long' lmao
I can't believe Sell Out De Niro is making a sequel this film. I mean, yeah, sure -- it's not the best film ever made, but it's one of the great comedies of our time. The idea of making a sequel 20+ years later WITHOUT Grodin is, well, despicable. I used to love De Niro, but he's burnt so many bridges in my book. Has he even made a single good film in the past ten years? Leave a good film alone...
Jack's ex-wife was certainly in very futile denial about how crooked her husband was. I wonder if the hubby got arrested when Serrano finally went down.
they never convicted me. here are some filthy words to ruin your day... CUNTBLOODYCUNTCUNTFUCKFCUKCKUFKDCKCKSHIT SHIIIIIITTTTT!@@ OMG SHITTTTTTTTIIIITTTTT!!!
Great screenplay. Why did Jack have to "leave town" and ultimately lose his family? He wouldn't take the money. What won't he do in this scene? He won't take the money. Incorruptible and paying the price.

Pretty uncommon to put such a dramatic scene in between this comedy and action. Meaning the scene between him and his daughter. Cause to me this drama at its best.
powerful stuff in the middle of an action movie and the final scene -the money belt -the music makes both scenes but de niro is all class -great supporting cast too
powerful stuff in the middle of an action movie (and the final scene -the money belt )-the music makes both scenes but de niro is all class -great supporting cast too -grodin should have gotten a best supporting oscar
Yeah, I agree. Pantoliano is pure gold in that scene! But I also love how DeNiro says "...or I'll shoot him and I will dump him in a FUCKING SWAMP!!!" and then shakes his head at Grodin. Hilarious!
"You're in a lot of trouble, Jack." What a laugh. She'll be in a lot of trouble once her husband gets exposed as a crooked cop. Deep down, she realizes this.
...and a brilliant, heartfelt performance by Danielle DuClos as Denise. Too bad she didn't get a lot of screen time or I'd say she should have been nominated for an oscar.
A great, heart-wrenching scene that gives the whole movie more depth.
I cry EVERYTIME in that scene.. where DeNiro is yelling at his wife and then suddenly the daughter (who he hasen't seen in 9 years) shows up.. omg, that is sooo strong.
Where am I? I'm in Boise, Idaho; no, no, no, wait a minute: I'm in Anchorage, Alaska. No, no, wait: I'm in Casper, Wyoming; I'm in the lobby of a Howard Johnson's and I'm wearing a pink carnation.
