263 people didn't even know that the 1st 128bit console, the SEGA Dreamcast there was! It was born 3 years earlier than Sony PlayStation 2, but although for this, DC has got much more Powerful, Anti-aliasing, HSR (Hidden Surface Removal) and Masterpieces way better than PS2. What a disapointment!
Everyone saying the PS2 had a "4mb graphics card" or "4mb of vram" doesn't really know what they're on about :P Yeah it did have 4mb of ram, but the point was to use all of the bandwidth of the 128bit bus to constantly stream the texture data which negated the requirement for loads of vram. Not going to doubt this made it a lot tougher on developers though
Dreamcast revolutionized gaming.. N64 revolutionized gaming, then PS2 and then the Game cube brought out the nintendo difference and was the best console ever, Sonic adventure 2 battle looks better on Gamecube, any sonic or mario game looks better on gamecube because gamecube owns.

No, not really. While the SMS didn't sell nearly as well as the NES, it did get a fair amount of sales in other countries. Genesis was the system that broke Nintendo's monopoly. Nintendo went from something like 90% of market share to less than half. The SNES just barely managed to pull even and didn't take the definite lead until the Genesis was retired early. Nintendo had little to nothing to do with Saturn or Dreamcast because the 64 and GC was busy getting thrashed by Sony.

PS2 only has 2, but with a $30 Multitap, you can have another thing DC had from the start. DC's memory cards hold data AND you can play little games on them. PS2's memory cards only hold data. You can use 8 memory cards at a time on DC. To do that on PS2, you need TWO multitaps, and another $30. DC can run homebrew right out of the box. PS2 needs over 9000 modchips. (continued)

I borrowed from my friend a Dreamcast. I enjoyed and liked it. It was good game like Sega Bass fishing! It is better than PS2! I might getting my own Dreamcast someday.

I respect the Dreamcast but it really was flattened by PS2. I'm not saying that makes it inferior, just that Sony had so much momentum from the 100million PSX sales, which was arguably do to the fact other fifth generation consoles of the time sucked (3DO, Jaguar) and the N64 not using CDs. Sony was the first to really get it right.
The Saturn was great but Sega was already suffering from the failure of the 32X (fuck you very much, Sega of America!).

All games that were released for both DC and PS2 has better graphics on the Dreamcast. I believe that if they continued developing games with new technologies, software and such, Dreamcast would run games like RE4 hands down.
@PersonaBrazil no, playstation 2 had better graphics overall, it's just that almost all games released on both systems were developed for the dreamcast first, so when they ported games, they where a huge downgrade in graphics, like when you play a certain xbox game on an xbox 360, the graphics are usually crappy, because xbox games where not made for a 360

my brother got a dreamcast a year before PS2 was released in Australia at launch day however we got Hydro Thunder and Blue Stinger since there were No Sonic Adventure, Sega Rally 2 or Virtua Fighter 3tb or a memory card due to a glitch, So we had to wait for a few days. Great system!
Sorry, but the reason I didn't get a DC was that I and a lot of others were fed up with Sega stuffing us around with the Saturn, 32x and the SegaCD. I owned a Saturn and the way they so blatantly killed it while not releasing great games (VF3, Sakura Wars, Grandia) meant no way i was going to deal with them again. Why would people trust Sega again after that?
I don't mind people who love the DC, I just get tired of the continuing knocking of Sony. Blame Sega's poor management, not competition.
gc: Many exlusive games with popular charecters such as link and mario
xbox: Many good first person shooters, but nothing besides that.
dc: ALOT of arcade classics, fighters, and the kick ass VMU and sonic
ps2: FUCKING EVERYTHING! dvd, ps1 compatible, best graphics, best online play, many great racers, fighters, first person shooters, AND it was affordable.

xD Dreamcast sucked. Online gaming existed since the SNES and Genesis with the XBAND attachment. The Dreamcast used the 56k modem because dial up was popular at the time, but when PS2 and XBOX came out they used ethernet connection which allowed for a broadband connection, which is a large step up from the Dreamcast's 56k modem.

All games that were released for both DC and PS2 has better graphics on the Dreamcast. I believe that if they continued developing games with new technologies, software and such, Dreamcast would run games like RE4 hands down.

@PersonaBrazil no, playstation 2 had better graphics overall, it's just that almost all games released on both systems were developed for the dreamcast first, so when they ported games, they where a huge downgrade in graphics, like when you play a certain xbox game on an xbox 360, the graphics are usually crappy, because xbox games where not made for a 360

@PersonaBrazil That's true, Dreamcast was way ahead of the pack, people say that's probably what confused people, it was too built for the future, it revolutionised too much too fast for some to catch up with it.
And now it gets the admiration that it should've got at the time.
The Dreamcast would easily have been able to run RE 4, even better than PS2, and the Dreamcast would have had it in HD, that's another thing, the Dreamcast was able to do HD with a VGA box on all it's games.

my brother got a dreamcast a year before PS2 was released in Australia at launch day however we got Hydro Thunder and Blue Stinger since there were No Sonic Adventure, Sega Rally 2 or Virtua Fighter 3tb or a memory card due to a glitch, So we had to wait for a few days. Great system!

Sorry, but the reason I didn't get a DC was that I and a lot of others were fed up with Sega stuffing us around with the Saturn, 32x and the SegaCD. I owned a Saturn and the way they so blatantly killed it while not releasing great games (VF3, Sakura Wars, Grandia) meant no way i was going to deal with them again. Why would people trust Sega again after that?
I don't mind people who love the DC, I just get tired of the continuing knocking of Sony. Blame Sega's poor management, not competition.

Here are the console's strong points:
gc: Many exlusive games with popular charecters such as link and mario
xbox: Many good first person shooters, but nothing besides that.
dc: ALOT of arcade classics, fighters, and the kick ass VMU and sonic
ps2: FUCKING EVERYTHING! dvd, ps1 compatible, best graphics, best online play, many great racers, fighters, first person shooters, AND it was affordable.

xD Dreamcast sucked. Online gaming existed since the SNES and Genesis with the XBAND attachment. The Dreamcast used the 56k modem because dial up was popular at the time, but when PS2 and XBOX came out they used ethernet connection which allowed for a broadband connection, which is a large step up from the Dreamcast's 56k modem.
