Great vid bro! I wasn't at this show in Orange Co., but I saw them on this tour in San Fran. What a great band they were too. Man I miss Jake Lee and Ray Gillen Easily one of the best duos in rock n roll. Ray was just an awsome rock n roll singer.. May he be resting peacefully in the hands of our Lord.
Jake puts down one hell of a solo for a James Taylor folk classic. If this would have gotten the play time and exposure it deserved, it might of very well defined this era of music. But instead, we got Seattle's grundge. Another tragic oversight of the recording industry going with a trend and not the substance within the music.
Beautifully done version on James Taylor's "Fire & Rain" performed by BADLANDS with Heartfelt energies. Just lovely live in action Concert event from the BADLANDS: Ray, Jake, Greg & Jeff.
Their cover of "Fire And Rain" is nothing short of breathtaking. I'm glad that there are others out there that still dig Badlands. JEL is the most underrated guitarist ever
This just brought some tears to my eyes, over the song and Ray being gone. I don't want this band ever to be well known, they are ours and always will be. Ray was a vocal GOD otherwise Black Sabbath would not have hired him. Jake knew a good voice when he heard one. He retired and won't come back and that sucks!
@Stevenmichaelsykes i saw them in 1992 in bristol england lucky enough to see them sound check and met the band after...ray gillens voice always blew me away , as i only followed jake e lee and ozzy and his other guitar players stuff before i heard badlands...gillen was equal to lee at that show ...he was also a really nice guy.
Great band, great cover, SUCK DRUM SOUND. That engineer should be strung up by his nads. It's called BASS drum for a reason. You can't tell the difference in between the snare and the bass drum, here. How gay...
why did ray started wearing headband prior to his death? i read that his hair was falling.t FYI, for more about badlands check out the book "BLACK SABBATH" the complete story.
This is my favorite version of this song. The recorded version is so incredible. So happy to see a live version. The vocals are a bit off in parts, but I bit it was a hell of a show. Thanks for posting this!
oh man cool shit here. ya know every time i turn someone on to good music and i notice they need a boost, cause they not rockin as hard as i am ,i tell em check out this version of of this song by badlands musicianship rulez!

Jakes guitar on the album version of this is awesome. Rarely does a cover ruin the original for you the way this one did for me.

go cry in your soup. you don't have to listen. Ray was great, that all.

This is a cover of a James Taylor song.
I think you misunderstood my comment.
coronet67 2 years ago
Backed 1000%, I feel the same way. I know it's blasphemous to the James Taylor fans out there, but this one just buries the original IMO.
