Well dogs have been known to do that. I mean we can't say the words "can food" in our house. we have to spell them because our cat knows exactly what we are talking about. Now the damn cat knows how to spell too. They can understand a lot of English. If they can learn words like that maybe they get it when you explain the 911 thing to your 4 year old. Animals are pretty intelligent.

@Megasanner there are ways to actually train your dogto call 911, keep it on speed dial for this.

1. its like normal training, but dont let the dog actually call 911 on the real phone, use a toy phone thats almost real, or a disconnected phone.

2. stage an incident, while someone else coaxes the dog to press the button, give it treats.

3. repeat process, but less coxing after a bit, continue this method

4. if this doesn't work, go online for other methods.
