  • Nice tune. Reminds me of Dam Funk.

  • Whoa, amazing sound showcased by a fantastic track! I can hardly believe these go for a few hundred bucks nowadays!

    *opens ebay*

  • Since this is your only synth, I think you should pair it up with an Akai AX-80. Not only does it go nicely together with it's vacuum flourescent bargraphs, but it also has similar specs minus one VCO and not as many waves, but puts out a nice, raw analog sound. A E-mu MoPhatt wouldn't hurt either. Both are fairly affordable. Just saying. I'm paying off a ESQ1 (1st gen metal case) at a local music store. $200, just needs the internal battery replaced. Can't wait to brig her home :)...

  • hell yes. and people used to say this thing wasn't good at bass! this is funky as hell - i'd love to hear you do an electro track sometime. i used to use my friend's ESQ all the time and now i use the pretty decent SQ-80 VST emulation (SQ-80 was the same synth with some more waveforms and features) but i want to get a real deal ESQ or SQ to pair with my Kawai K3 - another "digi-log" hybrid synth with less modulation but a little bit lusher pads/strings/etc.

  • A dreammachine, perfectly programmed :)

  • @photosynthesi Thanks!

  • NiCE! )

  • @hdslrus Thanks!

  • I really dig the minimalist groove. You get a lot of mileage out of a few notes. Did you build those patches yourself ?

  • @waveformblue Thanks man! Yeah I make most of the sounds I use on the ESQ-1. It's alot of fun.

  • Great job, man! I've got an ASR-88 and an ESQ-1, and I totally agree on the underrated part.

  • @mharris802000 Thanks man!

  • Really nice! Thanks for the sound! :)

  • @beltonism Thanks!

  • beatifull sounds and hands. :)

  • nice work .hey i saw somebody selling a Ensoniq esq-1 including bose speakers, keyboard stand, voice 80 volume 1 cartridge and foot pedal for $450.is that a good deal?? what do you think?? should i go for it??

  • @eddiemonsta84

    Thanks man!

You could probably find a decent ESQ-1 for around $250 - $300 on Ebay before shipping. I personally prefer to by gear that's not bundled with other things. However, if the one you saw is clean, in good working condition and is in a local area near you it would be an ok deal, but if you don't need the extra accessories I would get the seller to just sell me the ESQ-1 by itself.

    Hope this helps.

    Peace,

    TDS

  • @perspeeks Try the synthexchange. Select Ensoniq and then ESQ1. They have Ebay and Craigslist entries. Got mine off CL for $160.00
