uhh the statistics on apple's website for the iphone 3g's battery life are pretty accurate. many people complain about the batter life because of all of the games you can play (full fledged console games like starwars or super monkey ball). also, the iphone has push, so all enterprise users will be happy... as well as other enterprise apps already in the app store. dropped calls occur in areas with little or no service (fact). ur just an iphone hater. i'd much rather have a prada phone btw

and second of all, the voyager's touch screen isn't capacitive and doesn't have multi touch (which make the iphone so unique). the iphone also has a 620 MHz procesor, which is capable of playing games with in depth graphics such as crash bandicoot or even use google earth with ease. the battery will last 4 to 5 years... as the iphone uses same batteries as ipods do (which most ppl's last from 3 to 5 years). and most ppl have 3g (at least my small town does and most of new jersey)

To some, poor usuability invalidates software more than poor cell signals. well just to prove that verizon is much better than cingular, Verizon wireless offers a plan called Nationwide Select, which offers unlimited texting, picture messaging, instant messaging,web browsing, and email all in one package. Unlike Cingular, cingular makes you pay for each feature... i took the time to compare the difference between. cingular, for 450 mintues...plus all the feautures that i explained earlier from verizon, the cost came out to be 103$(cingular) vs 60$(verizon) monthly.

I just got a Dare a few days ago and I love it. Here is my opinion on the Iphone vs LG Dare. The iphone wins music downloading, web browser, wifi acess, and email acess. The LG dare wins in Camera, layout(because it can be customized), mobile im, GPS, and the options for sending text and video messages. All in all the two devices are very competitive so for me it comes down to pricing. The new iphone will be 30 bucks a month for data, the Dare is half that at 15 a month or 25 if you want GPS.

The iPhone we were using actually kept crashing. In theory it was supposed to be multi-tasking, but it wasn't. The iPhone also kept running out of battery life halfway through the day.

The downside to the Dare is no developer kits. I spoke to Verizon who said they probably won't ever have it for the dare and that any programs released would be through LG. I like some of the features of both the Dare, (camera, video camera) and the Instinct, (tv, voice enabled gps) but in the end, its the browser that won me over. I was tired of my browsing looking like crap and that is where the Iphone shines. Can't wait until friday!

To my knowledge, the Dare will soon be open to 3rd party apps similar to PocketPC phones, so an SDK isn't necessary. Personally, I think 3rd-party apps are a dice roll for customers and phone manufactures alike -- especially manufacturers with good reputations like LG. Consumers never know whether to blame the phone or the 3rd-party app for bugs. Apple played it smart though (much to the chagrin of developers). iPhone's SDK ensures that core functions of the phone aren't compromised.
