They are jellyfish.. i have some in my reef everyone tells me they will go away but have been in the tank for over 9 months

Your correct in your guess.
The coral you got for your tank was one of the reproductive stages for that jelly fish.
When this breed dies there body becomes coral
The coral fertilizes other coral and then eggs release and become babies.
