I was privileged to play in Gary's band way back in the 80s for just over a year (his brother, Brian, was on drums). We were disbanded when Gary got an offer he couldn't refuse (to tour with The Monkees - all the groups used the same backing band). We all understood and accepted because, for starters, Gary was (and I'm sure still is) a Prince of a guy, a real first-class gentleman and human being.
Keep on rolling, Gary! You're a true Class Act! All the Best!!!
@derekwolfdomains Tell Gary, one of his lifelong fans thinks he has one of the world's most phenomenal singing voices; right up there with the best ever!
@derekwolfdomains Way kool that you met Gary and was his friend in the late 1960s. I was a third grader in the fall of 1969 when Gary peaked the charts. Do you remember the street where he lived? I want to walk on that street someday. I met Gary three times in concert. After each session he would intermingle with the crowds. In 1968 Gary also did a video called : "Young Girl" with a beautiful woman. Do you know that woman's name? I asked Gary and he forgot, he said it was "Just some girl
Gary has done this song for years, but only in the last 3 years has it been done acapella. I love this version because it gives the guys in the band a chance to shine a bit! Love it!!!
He was an early love of mine also. It's wonderful that his voice is this strong. Only other singer that's maintained this level of talent is Smokey Robinson. He also is awesome live.
Awesome stuff! Gary Puckett is one of my musical heroes, and it's doubly nice to hear him sing something that doesn't have the identical chord arrangement of 'Lady Willpower' (you know what I'm talking about)!
I literally kissed the man in my life "goodbye" when he drove me to the airport, the same day you posted this...18th Nov, 07. A case of life imitating art, I wonder ? ;-) I've always loved Gary Puckett's voice...Accapella harmonies here are just wonderful. Thank you for uploading.
A fun song for Gary and especially for the band. This song was very popular at the concert I attended where it was sung. Great job.

GARY PUCKETT is my friend and I remember when he told me to watch the Ed Sullivan show that he was going to be on for the first time.
Gary Thanks for the ice cream at the 5 10 25 just down from the house in Clairemont in San Diego and letting me hit the drums and guitar...
You just let me hang out...
