To all you pro wrestling fans out there (like myself): This was the #1 song in the USA when Louis Gino Acocella came into the world (May 18, 1941). Acocella would become famous as Louis Cerdan and later Gino Brito.
Living on Milwaukee's south side, a place with a heavy Polish-American population, I grew up learning this song, not as AMAPOLA, but I'M A POLOCK! Listening to this song, you can here the similarity in sound!
I was born when this was No. 1 on the charts in 1941, and I believe it was the No. 1 best-selling song for the entire year.
And my deceased father always claimed it was his very favorite song of all time.
What great songs Jimmy Dorsey's orchestra belted out in that time frame, also including "My Sister and I" and "Green Eyes." And it's always great to hear such great vocalists as Bob Eberly and Helen O'Connell.
@vandywilliam My dad is still alive and I was checking to see what song he had when he was born, April 8, 1941, in Romania...horrible times...beginning of the second world war...I wonder if they ever had access to this type of music back then...in the middle of European turmoil...i have tears in my eyes...

possible correction...
Since I found you, my heart is wrapped around you,
And loving you, it seems to "beat" a rhapsody.
since the lyrics are speaking of "heart" I assume the latter word is "beat"?????

The best version of this song that I've heard was by the Ames Brothers. It was on a 33 1/3 rpm album I had and now I can't find it anywhere.
