Dude u got the right idea but your timing is off. It feels rushed. I'm not hating on you because I did like it but relax just a bit and don't force it so much.
@justfine77777 its about a midget prostitute who was incarcerated in 1982 in Belgrade, she was imprisoned for 2 years before they let finally let her out in reponse to public outcry, she ended up becoming heavily involved in womens civil rights. This song is was written in honor of her and is a beautiful tribute I think... Novi "little fighter" Beograd 1958-2008
@EddySwass listent to more white lion, listen to the entire album of Pride and tell me it sucks. especially the songs hungry and tell me, those were the two best solos vito bratta has ever done.
Cool, man. Nice guitar. I'll send u an mp3 snippet of the solo backing track. I'll get on2 it 2nyt or 2moro. Sorry, I'm not sending the whole backing track. It's just my policy. Gimme an email address and you'll see it probably 2moro. L8rz.
Absolutely amazing; beautiful cover and rendition. It's funny how a song like this wasn't taken serious back almost 20 years ago. However, I kind of like it that way. What a tremendous song.
Nice, Vito was a big inspiration to me. You wouldn't believe this, but I had a White Lion Tab book from their 2nd album sitting in a box for years that I bought back in the early 90's for like $15. Sold it a couple years ago for $40 on EBAY. Couldn't believe it!!! Anyway, Nice solo. Brings back memories. Love to see you re-record it if you really think you got it down better now, but I can tell you already got the "feel" of the solo down, just a little perfection needed, that's all =)
Thanks! I think its the combo of That, and that he was just over the scene, the people, the business. Moved to his home town, and just kept a very low profile. Last that anyone heard was that he was DJ ing for a low kee radio station towards the east coast.
@RandyVanMalmsteen - i read something on the net last year that he was trying to get in touch with Mike Tramp and reunite for a true While Lion show or tour. This guy sure was one of the best Van Halen / Vai school guitarists. Loved that slow tapping and two handed bends. Great job yourself on this dude. And sweet f'in mullet.
@RandyVanMalmsteen I heard he injured tendons in his left wrist rendering him virtually unable to play. That was a pretty consistent story on the net. Not sure about present. He was a brilliant guitar player & way underrated.
@RandyVanMalmsteen Vito moved home to take care of Mom or Dad. He did well in RealEstate.
Hurt his hand playing guitar and was trying to heal it up.
Tramp asked Vito if he wanted to get back together. Vito basically said yes but after he heals his hand up. Tramp misunderstood Vito, the guy of few words and Tramp stormed off saying something stupid and rude.
Tramp should apologize and then beg Vito. It wouldn't take much begging if Vito's hand is better.
I just wanted to say, great job, very clean and accurate! Vito Bratta currently live in his childhood home in Staten Island. But suffered a severe hand injury playing classical guitar in 1997. He experiences great pain moving his hand up and down the fretboard. He said that playing on a steel string guitar is like touching a live wire, but can play on nylon strings without too much discomfort. Also, nice name :P I love Yngwie Malmsteen.
@dannyhood66 Vito developed a nerve condition in his hands that i actually started to get the same symptoms of ... knife-like sharp shooting pains every time you touched a guitar string with a finger tip. I started to get the same thing and switched to playing nylon full time for two years in order to avoid it. one theory is the guitar callouses develop so think that they actually pinch off the nerve endings in the tips. too bad it happened to Vito ... he was such a good player
@joeylodes Wow! That's a trip and can not imagine having that problem..Must be a bitch to deal with when you are used to just picking up your instrument all the time..How do nylon strings make it any better?
@dannyhood66 it totally sucked ... i was already playing nylon string acoustic for a while so it wasn't a hard transfer ... just sucked not being able to crank up my strat through a marshall without being in agony. but i did what the doc told me and now can play electric pain free anytime i want. the nylon strings are simply more gentile on the fingertips compared to steel (especially heavy gauge) strings. Those nylons saved the day ... too bad Vito didn't try that back in the day
@joeylodes So basically Vito, literally fried the nerves in his hands or calluses to where its way to late in the game for him to get help? Or he had an extremely severe case of this, whatever the name was?.lol..Anyway that's cool that nylon strings worked out for you and solved a serious handicap..Lately i see comment's here and there asking what the hell happened to Vito Bratta, and your most likely right..I mean, why would the guy just quit playing and not record.
@dannyhood66 i'm not sure of Vitto's particular case ... he's also mentioned family illness problems in the few recent interviews he's done... and that must have taken a toll as well. When non-consistant cash comes in only here and there ... how are you supposed to pay bills and support a family with that? so i think between his physical and financial woes .. it just added up to him not being into playing anymore ... which is such a sin cause he was SO good at what he did.
@dannyhood66 Yeah, Vito is living in his hometown somewhere in the east. Such a waste of talent, that guy is amazing. I feel real sorry, his style was very, emotional and tasteful, the fingertapping solo was proof. It went higher and faster, it's amazing. Like climbing a ladder and getting faster the higher you go.
@dannyhood66 Yeah, you just don't see this stuff these days. I mean you'll find a good solo or riff here and there, but all-in-all people these days just don't get it.
@dannyhood66 I purchased a podcast from a new york radio station that did an interview with him. The DJ knows him and finally convinced him to come on and do an interview after he was MIA for so long. His father passed away and he did hurt his hand, but he can still play. Was a good interview, you could probably google the podcast and it might come up. I have the interview in my itunes as well. He was an amazing guitarist, had the most feeling in his rhythm and solos.
hey! let me tell u... the solo was great but what impressed me most was the closer to Vito's sound you get. What equipment u used? Amp, pedals. etc I will thank you a lot for the info. Nice job!
Hey guys I'm looking to learn melodic really unique 80s pieces like this one. Can you suggest a few specific songs and solos you think a worth a stab at? Sadly I could not find a good transcription for this song. I'd alo like to learn two handed tapping Vito style. Any tips, vids, or exercises i can do to get that signature Vito tapping style? Thanx 80s metal forever!
Is that the Ltd that came out for less than a year about 4-5 years ago? there's 2 versions of the M-1 tiger, the new one which has the rounded body and the older LTD model that had more of an MII body shape.
Im pretty sure he did too. Tapping and Picking have very different tonalities. and in the recording i think hes always been picking it, live he may tap, but im pretty sure it was picked
Even on the record, i'm sure that i can hear the percussive sound of the pick on the strings during the last bit. Definately sounds better picked anyway, gives it more attack. Nice playing BTW.
Great job. It's funny though, you're the second person I've seen on YT playing this solo with a George Lynch model guitar.
I also like how at the end of the solo you chose to pick it instead of tapping. I've seen people do it both ways, but when you picked it, it seem to add more emotion to the solo.
I can't remember, did Vito tap the whole solo, or did he pick it toward the end?
this guy nick is the shit man! his new band went to go see them play at the chain reaction yesterday, it was fucken kick ass. worth paying to see them
badass bro.kick ass guitar too.i dig the 80s and got a band.we play covers for now,but were workin on it lol.check it out were on my favorites im the drummer
thanks for putting this up man! i used it to learn the solo and mastered it in a day. If you play guitar, learn this song. its not as hard as it sounds, except for the feeling. thats tough.
Finally, a guitarist who is good enough to play the notes (very few out there who still get messages likes "u rock!").
Better still, you have the feeling and phrasing and aren't just robotically playing the notes.
Another fresh thing is that it's clear you're a good guitarist and not some kid who's still rough and raw (which shows through even if they play note perfect).
I went to reply to your last comment and i accidently romoved it =(. But anyhow, STEVE LYNCh just checked him out, amazing, i have a new gutiarist to play up on, and i have you to thank, thank you!!

thanks for putting this up man! i used it to learn the solo and mastered it in a day.

Well done.

I can't decide which is more accurate, the playing or the hair. Phenomenal job either way. This is one of my favorite solos of all time.

Sonar517 - Since you have it down, other than the "middle tapping part," why don't you post it, demonstrating it SLOWLY.
