  • Singing this in choir, I'm struck by just how beautiful music can be. Especially in the modern world.

  • Sacred tradition. This is part of our faith...it is truly beautiful. I am sorry you find it to be disrespectful. The English language is derived from Latin, Greek and many other languages. So to think it disrespectful is a lack of understanding of our Catholic history and present day tradition.

  • @toemac73 That's quite observant of you. However, I think the triangle is more representative of the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

And considering it's a monastery, they are most likely monks, but judging by their garb, not Franciscan monks.

Those are very good questions, thanks for asking them.

  • @Hero5352 Franciscans are not monks they are friars -big difference in lifestyle

  • Jesus H Particular Christ on a bicycle!

  • Very solemn and very beautiful, this is in latin isn't it. I thought that the priest didn't touch the Monstrance with bare hands, but wears a vestment to cover his hands, if I am wrong I apologise ?

  • Very solemn and very beautiful, this is in latin isn't it.

  • We believe God that you are genuinely present here. Panis angelicus- on way to sky given people.

  • The last comandment, of the Lord Jesus Chirst. "This IS MY BODY do this, in rememberance, of Me.

  • We adore You oh Christ and praise You, because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed this world.

  • It speaks of the final judgement soon to come. How sad to those who do not believe, in the Almighty One, our Lord God Jesus Christ. :o( I pray for you....offer my daily suffering too you. That you and all may share, in total an eternal life. With He who has risen, from the dead. We adore you oh Christ and praise you, by your suffering, death and resurection you have redeemed this world.

  • I Love Jesus Christ My Lord and Savior.

Praise be Jesus Christ Now and Forever.

    A Catholic Voice.

  • What's the name of the first hymn?

  • ma come fa un ostia a essere salutista?

  • What is the name of the processional hymn they chant? Very haunting -in a sacred way, of course!!

  • @MrLamontSanford

Cor Jesu, caritatis victima, venite adoremus.

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto.

  • Amen

  • Oh God quanti goolden...

  • oh wow this is Beautiful... i'ld love to worship in this church, wats the name? i need to convert to the catholic church soon and ineed y'all prayers, i'v learnt many of the Catholic doctrines, and i think i'v made up my mind to go with right church... the Holy Catholic Church...

  • @belladona001 You are making the correct choice. I welcome you with open arms to The True Church founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ himself over two thousand years ago. God Bless You!

  • @belladona001 Convert for sure -you won't regret it...just ignore the morons you see on this blog who are bigots!

  • @belladona001 This is at the National Shrine of The Most Blessed Sacrament located in Hanceville, Alabama.

You are in my prayer as you join the church

  • Thank you for this video...!

  • I think it's important to remember that the Mass is the Mass. The Magisterium approves it. I don't think it's right to refer to any Mass, even the NO, as a "desecration to the Holy Mass". There are problems with it, but there is also beauty and reverence. I think some problems are going to be fixed in the near future, but until then I don't think we should bash the NO, still the Holy Mass.

  • Don't worry a direct translation of the Latin mass has been approved by the Conference of Catholic Bishops which means the "new" mass will change.

  • My heart rejoices at seeing this piety and devotion. The novus ordo is a desecration to the Holy Mass, it is an unneccessary and horrid solution to a non existant problem. We MUST return to the Trent Canon of the Mass, and traditional Dogma

  • While some good came from Vatican Councils 1 and 2, an 'attitude" developed among clergy, religious and laity that mystifies me still. After Mass one Sunday, our priest handed a ciborium of consecrated hosts to me, a layman, saying, "Here, put this away for me". I declined. Reliquaries were put into cupboards with cleaning supplies. The old altar stone ended up on a table with unused candlesticks, brass polish and rags. Beautiful old vestments were thrown out. How did this happen?

  • I'm adding to what I just typed .....one of the great popes of history was John XXIII , who began Vatican II. It covered a tremendous amount of things besides the mass. Read up on it. One example was a review of the official list of saints, because it was well established that many had never existed except in myth & were eliminated. One , was St. Philomena. Off topic : some one mentioned the Dies Irae . The most common music used with it is regarded as being the most eery piece of music written

  • Having lived through the last of the standard Latin Mass & the process of Vatican II , I'm surprised at the lack of understanding of what took place. The Mass didn't suddenly change to the vernacular. It changed bit by bit & for years it was 1/2 English & 1/2 Latin. The 1st to change were the Epistle & Gospel readings. They could be read in the vernacular , but only after having been read (mumbled) in Latin at the proper side of the altar left - Gospel , right - Epistle.

  • Why separate Yourselves into Trads? In the end, doesnt it come down to us being a One Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church? I know some people have preferences but cant we respect other "types" and not bring up Vatican2 and what it did to injure 1 particular persons faith and saying that we have a lack of reverence? Also lets not say "what the church is coming to" were getting stronger in faith and even if you try to go back to old ways it wont matter because we will still be bonded under Christ.

  • Well, The Church approved Lady of all Nations predicted in the 50's about a huge council that would take place in the Church. And she said the changes are a good thing! She was referring to Vatican ll.

  • well, as you may notice there were god things and bad things that vatican 2 had done to the Church. there's always good and bad things when making huge changes, for example; vatican 2.

  • I am a traditionalist Catholic and I find the banter to be so disrespectful to the teachings of Christ. The Dies Irae will be here soon enough. And God will judge. To go to Tridentine Mass on Sunday requires from me a 3 hour round trip commute. Which I do. But I also go to Mass every day in English, during the week, and I find God everywhere. How you treat the stranger and your neighbor will mean much more on the Day of Reckoning, than whether you pray in Latin. Pax vobiscum.

  • @mediacarlton I find the teachings of the roman catholic "church" disrespectful to the teachings of Christ. You need to read up on your own history and the Word of God in relation to the man-made teachings of your organisation first, i think.

  • @kiwichristian2009 Poor lil' ol' me....people on this blog call me names..I'm just here to call their church diabolical, their beliefs diabolical, their leaders pedophiles..I'm not insulting anyone, just sincerely telling the truth..and people are unChrristian to me, all the RC whores...poor me...it hurts when satanic RCs insult me...I never insult those demonic bastards...not me! You are a true mental case

  • @mediacarlton Well said! Thank you.

  • @mediacarlton you're doing it wrong :D

  • @mediacarlton Pray for my Vocation, its my 2nd year in the Seminary

  • At my parish The Basilica of the immaculate conception we have the Latin mass on sundays and benediction every day at 12 all catholic parishes should be like this. Catholic traditions are for Catholics only non catholics who do catholic traditions should not they chose to leave the catholic church.

  • @mburns8395 they use latin bcuz it was spoken by pilate who killed jesus, and catholics say he was a saint for killing jesus, they say it in their 'creed' at 'mass'

  • @MegaFaithalone God bless you and your "knowledge" of the catholic church. We catholics OBVIOUSLY dont know anything about our faith. its amazing how someone out of the church can know so much! its amazing how you treat us with love and respect too! Jesus CLEARLY said "Love thy neighbour, as thyself" true christians would leave us alone move on with our "lies" as you call them and pray for our souls because apparently we're damned. Weird how you guys preach about love, and how God love us all.

  • @Ninflo1 yet here you are saying God will throw all the catholics into hell???? what the heck? if God truly loves us he would hear our plead in the CATHOLIC mass "Look not on our sins but on the faith of the church". God doesnt go around saying "oh my hes a catholic, throw him in Hell this instant!" or "Oh my a buddhist, throw him in hell!" NO he looks at us all equally, no matter what race, religion, gender etc. The only thing i could posibly think of that would make God dislike us is being

  • @Ninflo1 homosexual which is STRONGLY prohibited in the catholic church!

  • @MegaFaithalone You can just tell from your grammer that you have no idea what you're talking about, let alone on a debating front.

  • So, there must be a way that we can get together and let the Bishops of America know that Catholics in this country want to return to the old traditions....maybe we can start a petition or letter campaign....

  • Whoops, incense is not blessed before the Blessed Sacrament exposed.

  • I grew up as an Anglican. Even the English communion service was more reverent than many a Catholic Mass. It's just horrible that the Anglicans left the Church. I wonder if there's any way they could come back ........

  • This same exact procession is practiced at my Anglican church a week before hoyl week every year.

  • it's a Roman Catholic exposition of the Holy Eucharist

  • Yeah I know, but we have Latin mass at my anglican church, and during lent we have the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, the procession was almost identical to this video.

  • The Anglicans did take a lot of Roman Catholic traditions when King Henry VIII established the church of England.

  • The Anglican church in my town has higher tradition than the Roman Catholic, we do Latin Mass, Benedictions of the Blessed Sacrament, the Great Litany, Stations of the Cross, Rosary in the morning, Masses of the saints, Eucharistic Adoration... The Roman Catholic Church has a rock band :) that is OK though.

  • Yes.... those are all Catholic traditions you are using... I respect you for practicing them though. Most "catholic" parishes in America and other countries have thrown out most of the Catholic traditions.

However there are still Catholic Parishes that remain faithful to the Church in Rome, and practice true Catholic tradition.

  • Its almost Ironic.

  • what are u talking about

  • I went to a benediction service at my church on Divine Mercy Sunday. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Again, as I mentioned, I believe, a Catholic Benediction service is the closest you can experience heaven here on earth. The songs were in latin. Afterwards I went up to the tabernacle to pray. Just as I did, the sun shone through the stained glass and its rays rested on the tabernacle. Incense in the air, colors from the stained glass windows - it was awe inspiring

  • beautiful video.

  • I've been to the Shrine of The Most Blessed Sacrament, several years ago. It was beautiful. There is so MUCH reverence toward the Blessed Sacrament. I was so moved, that I wept tears of happiness. I also wept because I felt at peace. I felt so much love for the Greatest Treasure the Roman Catholic Church possesses, Jesus HIMSELF, in the Eucharist.

Sadly it is lacking in our Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan and elsewhere in the world.

  • God bless you for this. Thank you for sharing.

  • Thank you. The video was beautiful. I have always felt that a Catholic Benediction to the Blessed Sacrament is the closest we can experience heaven here on earth.

  • NURZ

i HAVE BEEN USING THE BLESSED SACRAMENT FOR A WHILE TWICE DAILY AND IT CALMS MY SPIRIT BLESSED BE gOD. i HAVE ALSO TURNED OFF THE TV -COLD TURKEY AND THIS ALSO HELPS CALMS ME.

  • The latin mass is the most reverend way to adore our Lord all that new jazz it is just disrespectful and don't even the Pope celebrate the mass like that. So, if you really are a faithful catholic loyal and true you must OBEY and follow the "Vicar of Christ". Who is better than him to show us the way to Christ? Not the "new age" Charistmatic.

  • The "new age Charismatic" garbage is also forbidden in the mass.

  • lovely! this is from EWTN if I'm correct.

I wish we could take the church back to the time of Pius XII, or Pope John XXIII where the latin mass was popular, NOONE dared tried to question the pope, nor the church, everyone had a great devotion of the blessed virgin mother, and the blessed sacrament. but please be patient for the gentle hand of christ will renew our world soon ✞✞✞

  • amen!

    Yes, i wish that so...

    INSTAURARE SACRA!

  • you are right dare i say what is the church coming too

  • How I wish for our church to go back to this. People in church nowdays are so lost some of them do not even know who they are coming to worship therefore there's no "reverence". to our lord. They act are they going to the theater or supermarket absolutely disrepectful Pray pray and pray for the world is lost even inside the chruches.

  • That's exactly as I see the problem.

Pope Benedict said, that the real dangers of today don't come from the outside, but from inside the church...

  • and don´t forget the "Carismatic Renovation"...in the Name of God! the Holy Church would be better if we could all go back to that :)

  • Simply beautiful. I miss this. Thank you

    and God Bless.

  • Beautiful... Thank you.

  • Note: The text of this hymn was composed by St. Thomas Aquinas and, along with Tantum Ergo, is strongly associated with Eucharistic Adoration, particularly, the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. There are variations on the melody.

    O Salutaris Hostia

    Quae coeli pandis ostium

    Bella premunt hostilia

    Da robur fer auxilium

    Uni trinoque Domino

    Sit sempi terna gloria

    Qui vitam sine termino

    Nobis donet in patria Amen.

  • Where can I get the words and english translation so I can learn this beutiful Hymn.

  • O saving Victim, open wide the gate of heav'n to us below, our foes press on from ev'ry side; Your aid supply, your strength bestow.

To your great name be endless praise, Immortal Godhead, One in Three; o grant us endless length of days in our true native land with thee. Amen.

  • thank you and God bless you!

It sounds Beautiful when sung in the Latin i don't know how it sounds in English though. Is it easy to find on the web?

  • This is from "The Litany of the Sacred Heart" which airs on EWTN from time to time. I wish this video would have included them singing "Adoremus In Aeternum" it's the only song cut form this recording, but it's the best one.

  • We are the one true church, and this proves it!

  • @hunky68 Not according to the Word of God, my friend.

  • That is alot closer to what a church should look like.

Return the Latin Mass...please...then move the dinner table and put in a proper altar, facing east.

Thank you so very, very much for posting this.

  • I can't wait to visit it again

  • Simply wonderful, uplifting, a hint at the power of reverent ritual once common in the Church. Laus tibi Christi!

  • This brings back great memories of my visits to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

  • what an alter. i never attended anything like this before..i'd feel like i'd have to take my shoes off just to step inside the church! i feel pious just watching it from here! wow!

  • I love watching this sort of videos.

I Salutaris Hostia, I love You!

    I love You, Jesus!

    :-))) Am happy!

  • This is beautiful. I've seen it before on EWTN. Is it possible to post the full version?

Blessed be God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. May the most adorable Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us all.

  • Oh Jesus I adore you.

Lord have mercy on us and all our seperated brethren. please bring them back into the fold of the community of faith. Forgive all errors and open their hearts to recieve your true and most Holy Spirit into their souls.

    Thank you Lord Jesus Amen!

Thanks for sharing this video. It is serene

  • Heavenly!I was in the Monastery of Mother Angelica in Alabama some month ago for a visit with my brothers and I felt the spirituality that flow there.Pax.

  • How wonderful to post this video. How wonderful that we are all one in Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. How sad that there are seeds of division here, rather than of joy. What a terrible witness to the faith.

  • In the Hebrew context, the word "memory" or "remebrance" literally means " to make a reality present. And, oh how it is. too bad that so many think that the bible was written in English with little numbers before each verse. Oh what a redemption we have! What a privilege, like the two on the road to Emaus to know him in this most precious Sacrament.

  • "Anamnesis" in the Greek is the better translation. See Exodus 12:14!! The Eucharist is the new Passover, right? Therefore, to memorialize such an event of salvation would insist that we not only recall it in some replay of a memorable event in our minds, but to "do it all over again". Earthly, physical manifestation to lift our hearts, minds, and spirits to the NEW, AND EVERLASTING covenant. Last time I checked everlasting is a long time. The Mass is the heavenly, perpetual, and physical sign.

  • Anybody know what the heart shaped thing is with the spikes on it is called? Also, what is on the top of the thing? It looks like a boat or something. I caught a quick glimpse of it.

  • The heart thing with the sun rays is called a monstrance, you place the consecrated host in it during adorations or processions. The thing on top of it might be either a simple decoration, like a kingly or divine symbol, or something which shelters a relic. Hope it helps!

  • Yes it does! Thanks a lot for the response! In all my years of being a Catholic I have never seen one of these things. It's a very beautiful thing actually.

  • Have you never been to an exposition? I wish you'll be lucky enough one day to go to an adoration of the saint sacrament: even if you stay just a little bit, it's such an amazing moment to be so close to our savior, thanks to the eucharist! :) God bless you!

  • Hi, Unfortunately I have not been to an exposition. Never even heard of one actually until I stumbled across this video. Something entirely new to me but I would love to attend one. I don't know if our parish conducts these but I may search around to see if there is a parish near by that does and when and on what particular occasion they do them.

  • That would be cool! But the expositions made in your parish might be different from this one. There are just a few prayers that are said everywhere for adorations, but then many things can be changed, depening on how close to the ancient rite the priest is. Hope you get to attend one! and many more! :)

  • I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT FELT LIKE THAT!!!! *high fives* you rock!

  • amen

  • can you please post the words to the processional chant? the one that starts off with O Jesu? PLEASE!!!!! *puppy dog face*

  • It's some weird form of the litany of the Sacred Heart. It's actually saying "Cor Iesu", I made the same mistake in looking for it. However, they seem to be doing a variation from the standard that is availible online, when you google "litany of the Sacred Heart" so I'm not sure.

  • thank you oh so much!

    *blush from the mistake*

  • The only bit I understand is "Cor Iesu caritatis victima" (O Heart of Jesus, loving victim), I guess, and then the Gloria Patri et Filio etc.

  • i think it's: Cor Jesu caritatis victima venite adoremus

    and then the Gloria Patri...

    sorry if i'm wrong:)

  • Comment removed

  • Ah, yes, indeed!

    That would explain it. Thanks.

  • HEY!!!! I ASKED A QUESTION!!!

  • The book your after is called the Liber Usualis, which contains the entire chant for the traditional liturgical year of the Roman Rite. This is Liber is fairly difficult to obtain but they are still in print. Contact your local traditional priest.

  • thank you so very much

  • does anyone know where i can get a monk chant book so i could learn the chants myself? is this book able to be purchased. i know they have this big book because in this other video i saw they were carrying this small but quite thick book full of chants. i would LOVE to have this book.

  • O salutaris hostia quae caeli pandis ostium bella premunt hostilia da robur, fer auxilium Uni trinoque domino sir sempiterna gloria qui vitam sine termino nobis donet in patri sit sempiterna gloria qui vitam sine termino nobis donet in patria AMEN we sing it every monrining in clas lol
  • Actually, the Shrine featured in the video above - Our Lady of the Angels Monastery - is in Hanceville Alabama.

Hanceville, while not all that far straight-line distance, is about an hour drive from the EWTN headquarters in Irondale because of the way the roads are laid out.

  • is there anywhere we can download this video? this is too gorgeous to let it get away loll.

anyone know the name of the processional chant?

  • loo, oops. thanks ^_^

  • someone please tell me where this took place. what church is this and where is it!? i would love to go visit!!! PLEASE tell me where this was.

  • It's a pity that this is such an rare event at Novus Ordo parishes that it merits posting on YouTube. Of course Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament can be found at any chapel of the Society of Saint Pius X. Thanks for posting this.

  • "catholics depend on idols."

please prove, since the catechism says otherwise.

  • I actually dont recall the Cathechism saying that. Read John chapter 6.

  • @emurami The Catechism of the Council of Trent states these words: "It is lawful to have images in the Church, and to give honor and worship unto them...".

  • Part of the cultural heritage of the catholic church. It still has some appeal , but it is totally outside reality. Belongs in the middle-ages.

  • you have no famuliarity with the catholic church.tha parishes with the highest mass attandant are the SSPX chapels, they have the fullest seminaries, their faithfull are less likely to e heretical

Belongs in the middle ages? get real.

  • God is the master of reality. Any worship of him, especially as direct as this, certainly falls into God's "reality". Should God cater to your reality? Trying to fit God into one's own little box we call reality relates to Satan's temptation to Christ to fling himself off the top of the temple with the assurance God would submit to the little experiment.

  • @Philos2006 A bigoted, and moronic, statement. Do you know that universities were a 'medieval' invention of the Church? Is a B.A. degree, M.A. degree, or PhD. 'outside reality' simply because it is 'medieval'?

  • As Jesus says in the Good book (Matthew 7: 1-3): "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you."

  • I do hope that your ideas of priests and priesthood would really change. It's too bad that many still think that way of men of faith like this. I do hope that you visit one day one of these places where these men live and see that they don't live like "fat parasites with the money they ransack from the poor victims of the Catholic clergy". They do their share of work...

  • If you were to uncover a few stones like I did, you'd find that "Truth" which you claim exists (you're one step ahead of the gang just by acknowledging its existence). If you're genuinely interested in the Truth, check out fisheaters [dot] com and take their "Challenge to Protestants." You'll be glad you did.

  • Well, I'm not bald YET, but I do intend to bake bread one of these days--nothing like it, fresh-baked by your own hands! Okay, so you're not an ignoramous, although a university degree doesn't mean much these days..... However, your comments betray ignorance of the Catholic faith.

  • @Galaor55 A study of the New Testament reveals that all Christians are priests. Peter said, "Be you yourselves as living stones, built thereon into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." (1 Pet. 2:5). Thus, all Christians are of that holy priesthood and can offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. There is not a man or group of men on earth who can offer unto God spiritual sacrifices for others.

  • Oh, Galaor55, you're just a hater. Don't be such an ignoramus, and get a life.

  • What a load of crap. Real some real Catholic theology and then say this rubbish. But once you have done so you won't be able to open your mouth! Read St. John of Damascus; read St. Theodore the Studite; read the Catechism.

  • Nice vid and thank God for EWTN.

  • Servitium,

Just having some fun. But I meant what I said regarding EWTN.

  • Servitium,

Get rid of EWTN once and for all. It is for Novus Ordonarians.

    Ecclesia Militans

  • If many people are leaving the Catholic church nowadays, now that the Latin Mass is back, who do you think is going to understand a mass in pig Latin?

  • It's a pain that some people can't respect other people's belief. Come on, yeah many people might be leaving the Catholic Church but a lot more is embraced by it. Why don't Christians just unite and work all together, and not bully each other (or more appropriately, bully the much 'stronger'). And please dont call Latin "pig", latin speakers dont call English "boar"...

  • It is not a matter of Latin or English. The reverence is the important thing! All people should be allowed to pray in what they feel will benefit them spiritually. People don't leave because of Latin, they leave because they don't believe in the Real Presence. Jesus is there to be adored and worship even in silence!

  • Jesus Christ attitude is the attitude everyone should have....

but we live in sin, so its hard to have it.

And so i agree with your last statement: Jesus Christ is to be adored and worshipped.

    (even in silence)

  • sINCE MEDICATION CAUSED ME TO BE AGGITATED AND LOOSE THE FOCUS OF MY MINDS, THIS WITH jESUS CENTERED HAS HELPED GREATLY. hE IS ALL TO ME, ESPECIALLY IN SILENCE. |aMEN jESUS.

  • Whatever you do, don't let the children watch Mother Angelica she is bad for them.

On the other hand let them watch all the satanic garbage on TV. Dirty Stinking Filthy Garbage.

  • Well most children watch those violent, disgusting, sexually contented, shows! They even sometimes tamper and disrespect liturgical songs. Why do they like these things!!!???

  • @imuseno The main problem here is that the roman catholic "church" is the only organization that has offered peverts of every stripe and pedophiles in particular a career, protection and access to children. Over time this has led to more and more perverts being attracted to the Church.

  • @kiwichristian2009 stfu and go save your own soul...

  • @alfredostra Nice language and attitude for a so-called "christian". What have i said that is untrue? Your language and attitude simply proves how much the rcc hates true Bible-Believing Christians. God bless you, my friend.

  • @kiwichristian2009

That's really not an argument as regards what one should believe!

To err is human, to forgive, divine.

Your other posts are much more telling!

  • @kiwichristian2009 In 2001, while he was a cardinal, the pope issued a secret Vatican edict to Catholic bishops all over the world, instructing them to put the Church's interests ahead of child safety. The document recommended that rather than reporting sexual abuse to the relevant legal authorities, bishops should encourage the victim, witnesses and perpetrator not to talk about it. And, to keep victims quiet, it threatened that if they repeat the allegations they would be excommunicated.
