the rider has an amazingly balanced seat. I am truly impressed. I teach people position lessons using a full-sized horse dressage simulator and using my 20yr intensive training in the Alexander Technique
@mustanglove99 if u bothered to actually read the first sentence in my comment...it said they look great together, fresians are my favorite breed of horse, so just let it go already, i mean seriously, i was just saying a tip :P
i wonder...have you been riding all your life? I have ridden dressage for 5 years and love it yet i still feel the urge to go bareback trail riding on one of my trainers school masters. Did it take you long to learn how to ride a friesian bareback? I have only ridden a quarter horse.
omg...... ur so lucky. :) it brings a tear to my eye. ive wanted a friesian for so long..... dont get me wrong, i luv my old appy/quarter horse mare, but friesians are my dream. :) good luck to u both!
There are 2 kinds of horse people: those who truly love horses and the relationship between horse and rider, who just ENJOY everything about riding and being with horses, and are realistic, and then there are the horse SNOBS, who think they know absolutely everything and that everyone does everything WRONG, and they take it all WAAAAY too seriously and to the point of being ridiculous, so you question if they even actually love horses anymore or if it's just about being "right" and competing...
Wow, people are ridiculous freaking out about no helmet...OHMYGOD! Haha. I would bet those people are the ones who aren't actually horse people. Their kids ride or something, so they are freaking out parents who are still scared of horses. (Probably scared of LOTS of other things too... :) I hate helmets. I don't ride horses or bikes with one. Yes, higher risk, but it is worth the risk to me. It's a personal decision. Not "just too stupid." You can't live life always in what-if mode....
Beautiful horse... :D I wish I could own a horse... thats a big dream of mine. Sometimes I really wish i'd been born into a family that owned a ranch.... *sigh*
Hey everyone - Horse people are insane! Wanna know how I know? Cause I am one and have been around them for 10 years! We all have our own opinions and we're the only right one =p Just let everyone do their thing.
Nice horse, nice riding by the teen with or without helmet =) I also have a friesian.
Not all Friesians have bigger heads. This gelding has a very small head and small ears for a Friesian. It is a standard size Western bridle we purchased at Millbrook Tack and Trailer in Grand Rapids Michigan. It wasn't cheap if I remember correctly!
i never ride with a helmet i gallop without a helmet.. idk if thts justs caz ima crazzzy cowgirl or what but if u watch ANY barrel racing or rodeo vid guess what...they don't wear helmets because they knoe how to fall! and its not stupid! we all have our own opinions and can keep the rude ones to our selves! i'm 15 i've been riding since i was 11 and i've hardly EVER worn a helmet! please don't judge!
@Singer777Chick i don't wear a helmet either, but its not "they know how to fall"
you have no idea what could ever happen. u could get hit by a transport. i know someone who died because their horse fell in a ditch and kept trying to get up, repeatedly landing on top of the rider and smashing her head against a rock. it's always a good idea to wear one, but ive also decided not to - unless im in certain situations or on new horses etc.
But just what in the world are you guys teaching children?! I mean we can't teach kids that it is okay to ride around without a helmet on...that is just too stupid!
It is okay to trust your horse and you always should.... but it is just WAY to stupid and not very smart to be riding around without a helmet on...I mean you never know when the horse will flip, get frigthen or something else.
And then I do not think anyone should show video clips on youtube where you're riding around without the helmet on.
@BlackJacksSaddle Yep, agreed! If I'm getting on a horse that has issues, sure maybe I'll wear a helmet then, but on my own horse or a horse I know well and trust? Nope.
But that does not change my feelings towards it... I still think it is dangerous and stupid seriously! It will SO put a stop to one's life if one's head gets fucked up... just beacuse a person thought it cool to go riding without a helmet!
I think it is retarted to ride around without a helmet... but that's just me.
I bet people would feel diffrently about riding without a helmet when they get there head cracked open. The only time i rode without a helmet was when i forget it...lol
@Saph58 Only time I ride with a helmet is when I'm riding at someone's else's stable or something and they make me. :) I hate helmets. Yes, more dangerous, but whooptydo. It is worth the risk to me. I also don't ride my bike with a helmet. Bleh. But I also grew up with playgrounds that had merry-go-rounds and see-saws and other things deemed "too dangerous" for today....lol
@superdupersonic Thousands of years ago people didn't live as long! They do now, most would of been saved by the new safety help - some that would include helmets ... But it is up to the person whether to wear one or not! So I see both sides.
@HanzRosie Yes it is the person's decision. Just like riding a bike. A LOT of people don't wear helmets but it's their choice. It's in their best interest to wear one though.
Nice!! I own a gelding who is similiar to the fresian in height and build,I have only ridden him bareback once but it was soo fun but sooo bumpy,I was scared to lope on him bareback.
Katie is a fabulous rider. she makes the sitting trot so very effortless. Cervantes is absolutely gorgeous! I have an 8year old friesian gelding but I havent been brave enough to canter him bare-back yet. Thanx Cally for the inspiration!

i must be blonde but i didn't know that friesians were liked by westerners (no offense to anyone) but yer i thought they were mainly english ridden, i am proven wrong lol
Reminds me of when I had my own horse. I'm sure that someday I will live on a farm again, and my children will have all the things I had when I was a kid.
I was just wondering, i wanna buy this horse that loves to work and loves attension, but she is 16 years old. she is the perfect fit for me but i want a horse that i will have for awhile. Is 16 years old too old?
no way she is not to old, i have a 24 year old horse, and she is still fit and crazy like a 4 year old. if u just wanna ride her for fun, she has a great age. if she is THE horse u want, and she is medically ok, u should get her. good luck
She rides beautifully, it is so nice to see someone who trusts their horse so much, they can go bareback in a field and just do what they want. It's great to hear you're showing, I'll bet they'll win!
If the trot hurt the horse, wouldn't the horse show some sign of pain? Looks fine to me, and without a saddle its pretty hard not to bounce, even a little.
Does that horse look like its in pain ?? no i didnt think so ..give the girl a break shes done a real good job and the both look amazing together. the horse would have done summink out of place by now if he was hurting ..
Ok horse is pretty but she cant ride she bounces toooooo much and shes hurting the horse when she does that but what ever and she dont have any legs on her horse so the horse could gallop off and shed be off off the horse
Friesians are a very bouncy hourse, no matter you could be the best and still the friesian will bounce. Its the posture of he horse causes the trotting to be such a pain in the ass to sit to. Give her a brake she is 16 and i think did excelent on such a difficult horse to sit trot to!
Your friend should work on her seat, just because all the bouncing up and down hurts his back and she is jiggling the reins which pull on his mouth. The canter is much better. A beautiful horse though.
the song along with the horse and the rider gave me goosebumps, it's beautiful. I love Friesians, and this video is a PERFECT example as to why. You do a beautiful job riding him.
please stop complaining and being critical ! just enjoy it ! the girl and her horse are so pretty cant we just watch and be happy ? my mother passed away last year and i will never have a chance to ever own a horse at all, watching this almost made me cry it was so beautiful, it has been so many years since i rode a horse at all since i was like maybe 6 years old i am now 33 and all alone thanks for the video its beuatiful.
OMG I just watched it again.....there is like, 2 in of AIR between her and the horse during the suspension phase!!! Trot and canter! WTF? haha I would be ashamed to post something like that online.
Nowhere in this post do I see the words "Professional Dressage Competition".
It is a beautiful video of a girl and her gorgeous horse riding through a field and having a great time and looking great doing it. I would not be ashamed at all to post this online, not in the least. I would be proud of my horse and myself. Do you pick on young girls to make yourself feel better about your riding or are you just a b*itch? (pardon my french) cheers.
It's nowhere near impossible to sit the trot of a horse with suspension- watch an Olympic dress. rider do an extended trot. Saddle is irrelevant for bouncing, she probably is this much of a jackhammer in the saddle too. Fresians are OK at dressage, but all the Olympic riders cleaning up are mounted on WBs and Baroque types; Fresians are bred for carriage pulling.
OK so this is really depressing that people think what this pair is doing is dressage. Horse is behind the bit and the hind end is nowhere near to being connected or tracking up. No wonder it can't use its back, what with the rider bouncing all post-backed on its spine...poor thing probably needs a chiro visit.
However, it doesn't matter anyway. Becuase she's not bouncing. Obviously you're not experianced enough to tell the difference between banging down on your horse and moving with him. She's doing fantastic. She has excellant horsemanship, and a natural seat. It's wonderful, so FUCK YOU joop(:
Now what else did you BITCH about? Bouncing; have you ever ridden a Western Pleasure horse? They have small steady strides, it's their breed movment. Rather, the typical movment of their type classification: Stock Horse. Anyway, even that is hard to sit. A warmblood type horse, with sucha a powerful forward stride defintly would be difficult, even witha saddle. Plus, I'd like to see you try. Video Please?
Excuse me, Ms. Joop1234567890... Also, it was obvious that she was not riding the bit. She was simpily pressuring it so that the horse could understand the command. She wasn't applying too much, otherwise there would be a conflit between her and the animal. (Minimal Contact) Thankyoubye.
Excuse me, Ms. Joop1234567890... Here's a newsflash for you, most Fresians excel at dressage. Have you ever seen a photograph of a dressage horse and rider undersaddle? Well, the idea is to be collected and free flowing. She was collecting the horse so he would have well rounded strides. Honestly, if you'd like to compete on any National or State level, you MUST be collected. English and western. (Headset sweetie) And this gelding could probally come in close to first at state, at least.
The horse is brilliant and the girl is good to have balance"!!!!I've actually ridden woth no saddle- walked, trot, canter!!!!! and it is hard to balance but bouncing can be difficult to stop but with better grip and sitting into the horse can control all that bouncing!!!!!Banging down on the horse does not help his/her kidneys and also hurts you!!!!!!!
ofcourse a friesian strong enough to carry her, he is even stong enough to pull a carrier and much more i saw one once who whas pulling in a copetition against a belgian brabant and he was a stong competition for him, the girl is doing a great job with that horse
To Joop1234567890, riding bareback improves your riding ability. This girl actually has very good posture, especially on this type of horse. You offered that she use a saddle, yet doesn't that put more weight on the horse's back? Anyways...we're talking about a friesian. I think it's able to carry that girl's weight with a saddle and more. I suggest you get to know your horse's and study the art of riding before you make a judgement.
OMG...I cried. All so wonderful and beautiful!!! The pictures were just, omg, amazing! You are an excellent rider:) That is an amazing horse you have there.
whaat? thats really weird, joop1234567890 how the heck would a horse know how to go? of course..we could always use hackamores and headstalls but really.
To Joop1234567890...Have you ever tried to sit a trot on a Friezer...or any horse with a suspended trot for that matter? It's not as easy as it looks...really. :) I had a Saddlebred, Arab cross that moved out all four feet off the ground at a trot...not easy...and All I could ride was bareback...I didn't have a saddle then. And seriously bad karma you're throwing out leaving mean comments...
never? so you either have a weird looking bridal or a hackamore? did you ever thing that the horse isn't trained for that? you do have to do that-train- you know! what do you know anyways? its probably a friends horse or one at a local barn!
can't believe people like this so much, look how the rider is bumping up and down on the poor horse's back. Would you like such a stress thing on your back. And why pulling the reins so hard specially in canter. take the bit out and put a saddle on, you maybe see some improvement.
yeah i clicked on your page dont see any vids ov u riding no i dont either but i dont go round leaving bitchy comments you can obviously see this girl is a great rider x
have you ever ridden bareback? have you ever ridden at all? and Im talking more than at summer camp, or a few lessons Im talking acctivly and if so than you dont know how to ride, have you ever tryed to ride without a bit? have you ever ridden a horse BAREBACK at a CANTER and looked anything like her? she is doing AMAZING!!!! do you know anything about horses other than the terms bit, canter and bareback? its best to actually know what your talking about before you judge!
Hi, very beautiful video ang gorgeous Friesian. Is he mixed with Arab?

I'm going to have a Friesian of my own one day. ^_^ <3
Wonderful video by the way.
I hope that one day I can have a horse of my own. I'm only 15, but I really, really want one. <3

Reminds me of when I had my own horse. I'm sure that someday I will live on a farm again, and my children will have all the things I had when I was a kid.

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering, i wanna buy this horse that loves to work and loves attension, but she is 16 years old. she is the perfect fit for me but i want a horse that i will have for awhile. Is 16 years old too old?
peteplusme 3 years ago
no way she is not to old, i have a 24 year old horse, and she is still fit and crazy like a 4 year old. if u just wanna ride her for fun, she has a great age. if she is THE horse u want, and she is medically ok, u should get her. good luck

Is this horse trained with John Lyons techniques or any type of natural horsemanship?

A Beautiful team. She should be proud that she has created such a bond and trust with her horse.
DecadentArt 3 years ago
She rides beautifully, it is so nice to see someone who trusts their horse so much, they can go bareback in a field and just do what they want. It's great to hear you're showing, I'll bet they'll win!
If the trot hurt the horse, wouldn't the horse show some sign of pain? Looks fine to me, and without a saddle its pretty hard not to bounce, even a little.
jamjenjam 3 years ago
Does that horse look like its in pain ?? no i didnt think so ..give the girl a break shes done a real good job and the both look amazing together. the horse would have done summink out of place by now if he was hurting ..
stunning fresian well ridden .. =]
samanthajoanne31 3 years ago
the horse doesnt look like its in pain,it LOOKS pretty comfortable with his rider
skeeterbug12 3 years ago
I don't think you can do it better
16mayo16 3 years ago
Ok horse is pretty but she cant ride she bounces toooooo much and shes hurting the horse when she does that but what ever and she dont have any legs on her horse so the horse could gallop off and shed be off off the horse
horseangel12345 3 years ago
So? It didn't happen. Chill out. Not everybody is perfect. just enjoy the harmony here. =P
AlmostFamous033 3 years ago
Friesians are a very bouncy hourse, no matter you could be the best and still the friesian will bounce. Its the posture of he horse causes the trotting to be such a pain in the ass to sit to. Give her a brake she is 16 and i think did excelent on such a difficult horse to sit trot to!
LadyJessicaLauren 3 years ago
She obviously trusts the horse, and yes, horses can be predicatable if the rider knows them. I would expect that horse to bolt, he's so chilled out.
jamjenjam 3 years ago
Your friend should work on her seat, just because all the bouncing up and down hurts his back and she is jiggling the reins which pull on his mouth. The canter is much better. A beautiful horse though.

redbutterflynine 3 years ago
OMG I just watched it again.....there is like, 2 in of AIR between her and the horse during the suspension phase!!! Trot and canter! WTF? haha I would be ashamed to post something like that online.
helent623 3 years ago
you do realise that its a young girl. And even what if,what does it matter, you think your a hotshot?
jessthark 3 years ago
Wow, you're pretty much just a b*tch aren't you?
Nowhere in this post do I see the words "Professional Dressage Competition".
It is a beautiful video of a girl and her gorgeous horse riding through a field and having a great time and looking great doing it. I would not be ashamed at all to post this online, not in the least. I would be proud of my horse and myself. Do you pick on young girls to make yourself feel better about your riding or are you just a b*itch? (pardon my french) cheers.
Jelee31 3 years ago
It's nowhere near impossible to sit the trot of a horse with suspension- watch an Olympic dress. rider do an extended trot. Saddle is irrelevant for bouncing, she probably is this much of a jackhammer in the saddle too. Fresians are OK at dressage, but all the Olympic riders cleaning up are mounted on WBs and Baroque types; Fresians are bred for carriage pulling.
helent623 3 years ago
OK so this is really depressing that people think what this pair is doing is dressage. Horse is behind the bit and the hind end is nowhere near to being connected or tracking up. No wonder it can't use its back, what with the rider bouncing all post-backed on its spine...poor thing probably needs a chiro visit.
helent623 3 years ago
However, it doesn't matter anyway. Becuase she's not bouncing. Obviously you're not experianced enough to tell the difference between banging down on your horse and moving with him. She's doing fantastic. She has excellant horsemanship, and a natural seat. It's wonderful, so FUCK YOU joop(:
WandaStunna 3 years ago
Now what else did you BITCH about? Bouncing; have you ever ridden a Western Pleasure horse? They have small steady strides, it's their breed movment. Rather, the typical movment of their type classification: Stock Horse. Anyway, even that is hard to sit. A warmblood type horse, with sucha a powerful forward stride defintly would be difficult, even witha saddle. Plus, I'd like to see you try. Video Please?
WandaStunna 3 years ago
Excuse me, Ms. Joop1234567890... Also, it was obvious that she was not riding the bit. She was simpily pressuring it so that the horse could understand the command. She wasn't applying too much, otherwise there would be a conflit between her and the animal. (Minimal Contact) Thankyoubye.
WandaStunna 3 years ago
Excuse me, Ms. Joop1234567890...
WandaStunna 3 years ago
Have you ever even been to a rated dressage show? Much less competed at one? I dunno which state you live in.....hehe

The horse is brilliant and the girl is good to have balance"!!!!I've actually ridden woth no saddle- walked, trot, canter!!!!! and it is hard to balance but bouncing can be difficult to stop but with better grip and sitting into the horse can control all that bouncing!!!!!Banging down on the horse does not help his/her kidneys and also hurts you!!!!!!!
snoopy1983086 3 years ago
Beautiful young rider and horse... BUT where is her helmet??!!!
barrongl 3 years ago
ofcourse a friesian strong enough to carry her, he is even stong enough to pull a carrier and much more i saw one once who whas pulling in a copetition against a belgian brabant and he was a stong competition for him, the girl is doing a great job with that horse
stephen123450 3 years ago
To Joop1234567890, riding bareback improves your riding ability. This girl actually has very good posture, especially on this type of horse. You offered that she use a saddle, yet doesn't that put more weight on the horse's back? Anyways...we're talking about a friesian. I think it's able to carry that girl's weight with a saddle and more. I suggest you get to know your horse's and study the art of riding before you make a judgement.

jumarie253 3 years ago
To Joop1234567890...Have you ever tried to sit a trot on a Friezer...or any horse with a suspended trot for that matter? It's not as easy as it looks...really. :) I had a Saddlebred, Arab cross that moved out all four feet off the ground at a trot...not easy...and All I could ride was bareback...I didn't have a saddle then. And seriously bad karma you're throwing out leaving mean comments...

joop1234567890 3 years ago
so your saying you should never use a bit?...yea whatever
Vlisady 3 years ago
did I say that? I say it would be better for the horses if people would stop using bits.
joop1234567890 3 years ago
never? so you either have a weird looking bridal or a hackamore? did you ever thing that the horse isn't trained for that? you do have to do that-train- you know! what do you know anyways? its probably a friends horse or one at a local barn!
horsebelover 3 years ago
I ride almost only bareback, that is why I know it is not so difficult as it seems
joop1234567890 3 years ago
ever ridden a Fresian bareback> or anything with such amazing free and large strides?

stunning fresian i have a fresian morgan cross hes a cutie
coby4201 3 years ago
can't believe people like this so much, look how the rider is bumping up and down on the poor horse's back. Would you like such a stress thing on your back. And why pulling the reins so hard specially in canter. take the bit out and put a saddle on, you maybe see some improvement.
joop1234567890 3 years ago
maybe u should try riding bareback...you bump around a little...give the girl some slack!!!
