the reason why its difficult to make a silent hill as good as the old ones is because the older ones were produced by moments of inspiration...people keep asking the silent hill team to shell out a new one on a regular basis yet expect it to be just as good as the old ones...doesnt work that way...you want a game as good as the originals you gotta be patient...and let the moment come naturally...you cant mass produce excellence

I don't know what's wrong but I just can't stand listening to Silent Hill Tracks that has lyrics or are too fast like this particular one... I think it loses the sadness... I don't know why... But I prefer the tracks like Not Tomorrow, Promise (Reprise)... The best one IMO is the "End of Small Sanctuary"... Even though it has some distortion, it makes me teleport to another dimension...

I'm certain everyone has heard the rumour that Akira Yamaoka has retired, I don't want to believe it is true, but if it is - the Silent Hill games are already so different from how they were originally, but a Silent Hill game without Akira may as well not be Silent Hill at all.

The guy working on 8 (David Lynch I think) has some big shoes to fill there. But if 8 turns out terrible, it's time to make one more game to cover everything left to be explained and then call the series. Zero wasn't bad but HC was at least one nail in the coffin.

I actually really didn't like Silent Hill: Origins, I'm sick of Pyramid Head showing up in everything that isn't Silent Hill 2 or related to Silent Hill 2. Don't get me wrong, I love Pyramid Head but you can't throw Pyramid Head or any certain characters and call it a Silent Hill game then expect people to consider it a Silent Hill game. And yes, I understand it wasn't exactly Pyramid Head but you can tell the resemblance.

This track is just beyond unbelievable. I was way too little when I first bonked into it and it still strikes me silly. Silent Hill's franchise music is within its own well deserved merit a great overachievement, in and of itself. As for my personal perspective though, this one singles out as one of the most memorable tracks, not only in my videogaming expeditions, but early life as a whole!

but if you don't have a ps2, or your ps1 is broke, you can play ps1 discs on your computer with the ePSXe emulator.

@Death1121: I personally enjoyed Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and only think it should be played on the Wii seeing as how they really integrated the Wii-mote with the game. However I don't agree that Climax makes the better Silent Hill games, you have to remember they made Silent Hill: Origins.

@Death1121 Got my sympathies, I really recommend "The Hunger", its got that chilling SH atmosphere that imo only was completely succeeded in SH2. Ironically its the only SH graphical novel thats not translated to english as far as books go anyway, you can only get it on "SH Experience" for the PSP. If you're a fan I'd say its totally worth it cause they made one hell of a job merging the pics and music (from the OSTs!) together. A great "experience" indeed
