I think the game is set just after her father died and before legend.This is what Lara was like before she became stronger and wanted to know what happened to her mother. This game shows how Lara changed from a girl who didn't know what it was like to explore the world into a what she was through out legend, anniversary and underworld.

I remember playing these with my dad back in the 90s without being able to rely strategy guides or youtube "Lets Plays" for assistance. You know what they were originally at the core? Challenging puzzle platformers that made you second guess going around every corner and think hard in relation to the environment. There is no sense of danger anymore in these newer ones. I look at this game with a new hope that it may yet still have a chance to return to it's roots.

- Lara Croft is much younger in this game. It shows how she evolves into what she is typically known for in the previous games.
- Because Lara is young in this game, her facial features probably haven't matured yet, including her lips.
- In this day and age, CG are a lot better than what it used to be and thus, realistic features are available.

i dont usually like reboots however i have managed to accept with tomb raider now, if it was still continuing from the 1st tomb raider Lara would be almost 50 now. Therefore im ok with this and cant wait to buy it!

I remember playing these with my dad back in the 90s without being able to rely strategy guides or youtube "Lets Plays" for assistance. You know what they were originally at the core? Challenging puzzle platformers that made you second guess going around every corner and think hard in relation to the environment. There is no sense of danger anymore in these newer ones. I look at this game with a new hope that it may yet still have a chance to return to it's roots.

@Punkrockfan001 Isn't anyone entitled to their own opinion? I would love to see her have a more classic haircut, all else looks better. The Lara from Legend has the best haircut in my opinion. If you accept this or not (and from reading your comment you are probably not accepting my opinion) you have to deal with it, start opening your eyes and realize that you will always encounter people with a different opinion. Why you have to go berserk is narrowing your mind and that is a shame.

This isn't really Tomb Raider or Lara Croft, it doesn't look like Lara at all and about the tomb raiding there doesn't seem to be any. Everyone's entitled an opinion and this is mine. I really hope this game won't be a let down.

lol people the screeshots you saw are just concept art. Lara's boobs, weapons, clothing, enemies, gameplay are provably still being touched. This is just a concept. Until we see something concrete we can't assume all that was shown. I hope her boobs are little bigger as it wouldn't make sense otherwise. Her older versions have way bigger cup sizes. Anyhow, I hope the game turns out to be cool

this is not a new game in the series, this is a complete and utter Reboot of the series. this is Lara Croft Pre-Badass, fresh out of college, a tomb-raiding virgin. they want people to see and identify with a person, not fap to a walking pair of chesticles dressed in sexy swimsuits. if you want fanservice, go play the earlier games. @black00dice Game Informer. the first picture he reeled out is the cover of the Issue I got my information from. basically, she just got out of college and was going off to do some conventional archeology, no tomb-raiding involved, when her ship she's riding gets totalled on a pretty-much isolated island. it's not deserted, though, as she finds out, to her horror. if you screw up in this game, Lara will die. Viscerally. disturbingly. just like that. lara will be forged anew, from DESPERATION.

You know I really like the new Lara and the detail of the game. Some people are gunna be pissed about no more boobs and no more revieling clothes, really? I mean character wise, this shows another side of Lara. A much younger, determined and more rolemodeling strong woman. All we really need (if its that important) is some ass shots or downblouses like in Beast ridder, thats all, natural captures, no need for short shorts. In a serious note she need some good combat damn it... like drake...
