  • Also this animation is charming.

  • @Anophis I agree! :-)

  • I love this.

  • a few years ago a mate of mine used to talk about a singer called Crispian St Peters but he couldn't remember the song he sang,I'm gonna go and see him tomorrow and start singing this, see if it'll jog his memory. He was twenty in '68,I was three.

  • One of the best songs ever...period!! May you rest in peace, Crispian! Thanks for the memory!

  • At last, the original !!! MERCI !

  • Bloody council.

  • R.I.P. Crispian St. Peters (1938 - 2010)

This gave me an idea for a song. Thanks!

  • Another timeless classic. Like so many other songs I first heard this one cruising at 30,000 ft in a large jet. They used to "pipe in" the current pop tunes on those cheap plastic earsets on longer flights and being it was during the 60"s, most of the tunes were fantastic like this one. Love it !

  • I love this song. If ever there were a song to make a decent video to, this is one.

  • tHIS SONG IS LAUNCHESD BY THE dUTCH GROUP : tHE jETS ( SEE MY ACCOUNT FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE)

  • Cool ! I remember this song as written by the duo of Steve Duboff and Artie Kornfeld, who first recorded and performed the song in October 1965 as "The Changin' Times". Artie went on to fame and fortune as the guy who organized the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969.

  • I wasn't born when this was a hit, so I have no memories associated with it. I just hear it as a classic song well sung.

  • Great song!

Although Crispian obviously didn't read the original story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, in which the Pied Piper KIDNAPS the town's children in revenge for the residents' refusal to pay for his services as a rat catcher. So, it turned out to be a singularly bad idea to follow the Pied Piper, for rats as well as for the children, which makes the line 'Trust in me I'm the Pied Piper' sound rather ironic. Don't follow him poor girl whom this song is about, it's a trap!!!!!! :-)

  • This one is definitely appropriate for our beloved weatherman DUTCHSINSE!

Gawd! He's only providing a FREE SERVICE to mankind, yet is receiving untold abuse for such!

    YEAH! Go figure guys.

Let this song ring in your hearts & ears & always remind ALL OF US of our super HERO DUTCH! ~ /user/dutchsinse

  • Great song ...

  • sex and death. the pied piper of hamelin is thought to be the grim reaper in many interpretations

  • One of the greatest years for top 40 rock and roll-1966.

  • HAVE YOU PAID THE PIED PIPER!?!?!?!?

  • awesome song and video thanx for sharing:-)

  • The story is part of Junior school English studies here where I teach in Germany. I'm gonna teach my classesa this great song which I also recall from when I was about 10 years old back in Oz. . I might go visit Hamlin while I'm still here just to check out the 'Pied Piper' scenery! Some of the story is related to facts apparently. Many deaths due to a rat plague etc....

Great song, R.I.P. Crispian St Peters.

  • this brings back so many great memories when songs were good and fun, I always loved the song, I was about 10 or 11yrs. old when it came out, excellent!!!!!!

  • Best sound quality plus beautiful video. THANKS!! I was 16 when this song was released, loved it and never forgot it. So happy to rediscover it today.
