Drinkin' & thinkin' don't necessarily mix or maybe that's drinkin', thinkin' & speakin don't mix? lol Got the point in the end and couldn't agree more. Sean if you like readin' theres a great little book by an old pommy writter/artisan/artist called 'road to nowhere' which is really interesting, I think you would really get into it. Oh sorry the author is william morris
If it's OK with you Sean, I'm gonna use that metaphor in my next business meeting. "Fellahs, nobody wants to take it up the arse but someone's gonna. We drop out guard and the opposition is gonna bend us over and slip their business cock right in - we gotta knowledge our manage"
But I am currently working on a killer blog entry about how the "Powers That Be", whoever those fuckers are, keep us in line using the fear of what other people think. They can't stop us from sharing the information!!! Rock on, Seany!!!
Rock on, Seany!!! I found out (after buying & putting new memory into my comp), that I don't have enough MHz to actually make vids for YouTube, until I save up for that as well.
Knowledging our manage? OMG, you sound like GW Bush!! But then you started talking about secrecy being a bad thing, and I knew that couldn't be farther from anything he'd say!
FYI - many of us who work for large corporations are forced as a condition of our employment to sign confidentiality agreements/codes of business conduct that prevent us from disclosing info.
My g/f battles daily with a mindset that is fearful of giving away power by givng away secrets. And this is in a government department in the business of working on environmental issues. Sustainability. The paranoia in the workplace makes it very difficult to get anything done- even though there's no shortage of ideas.
Secrets? Governments wouldn't keep secrets from us! Scientists would never... and... Military wouldn't... I'm sooo disillusioned I have to go lie down now.
Machiavelli's The Prince set me straight about a lot of this stuff. A little, thin, book, packed full of advice that is mostly about controlling the flow of informazione.
Sharing of the information is the easy part Sean mate, its checking that info for true facts thats the hard part. We have so much info with the internet but theres also so much mis-information. Loving your work mate.
That's why I don't bother so much with statistics and stick pretty much with concepts, principles and ideas that can be used by people trying to get active. For all I know, I've got the wrong end of the stick about a lot of things, but as long as the basic thrust is harmless and protected by good and simple ideas, I can't go too far wrong.
I had an opinion about this video, but I decided to keep it secret. :P
Naw. This one is golden, Sean. Funny, too, but the main thing is you clobbered the nail. There's a lot of stuff we need to know that isn't in the traditional media channels. They won't tell us. This is our chance to make that right.
With the current internet open-ness, we have all the free speech we need to get things rolling. I've learned more in my recent few years skimming the net, than, um, before that. Seriously, it shits me that people behave as id th net isn't there and ready to be used.
Not bad for a meathead eh? The bookshop I've started working in was robbed. Two days later, I'm there and a delivery driver says to the owner- referring to me, "Is this guy the new bouncer?"

Don't be so hard on yourself. By head-banger I meant a listener of heavy metal. Doesn't necessarily make you a meathead.
