Definitely the only 1960's film that is more chilling now than when it was released. Because this set the scene of what was going to happen to Rock and Roll in the 1970's thanks to KISS, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Peter Gabriel (when he was with Genesis), and others while the Steven Shorter character seems to mirror what was about to happen to John Lennon and Michael Jackson: their lives ruined by fame.
What exactly is the significance of hot chocolate? Thanks for the background. The more I learn about the new world order the more I see how it is their nature to expose themselves (they may see it as exultation) in movies etc.
@twitstixify There's no significance in the choice of drink, just in the Shorter character choosing to make a decision for himself for once, albeit trivial, only to be copied by everyone else. This film is very heavy handed indeed, but interesting just the same.

Wow, this film is much creepier than I remember it. Totally ahead of its time too.
Doesn't seem to be out on DVD here in the UK though.
SHAME!
