The reason they're booing him is because they view the troops as fighting for god's favorite country in the whole world -- Christian America. When someone is fighting in the military, and not on that premise, it shatters the view of the United States military as the army of god.

This was the military's way of kicking you out if you were found out to be gay. This way they'd be kicking you out for fraud and not because of your sexuality.

The reason they're booing him is because they view the troops as fighting for god's favorite country in the whole world -- Christian America. When someone is fighting in the military, and not on that premise, it shatters the view of the United States military as the army of god.

Is kicking gays out of the military NOT a social experiment in its own right? If they're so concerned about sex within military ranks, why don't they have anything to say about male on female rape? Or sexual harassment by senior male officers against their female subordinates!?

I think it was "injecting social policy" to ban/discharge gays to begin with. It is injecting irrelevant beliefs based on religion that not everyone agrees with into our military, with completely counterproductive results (fewer serving!).

The thing that is so wrong about DADT is that it is sacking someone from their job not for doing something, but for being something. Dismissal is humiliating and life wrecking in every sense, and is unfair on personnel with an unblemished, and often distinguished military record.
Repeal of DADT does nothing more than remove this intrinsic unfairness. It does not require soldiers to have gay sex with each other or wear lipstick, fluffy tutus and carry handbags into battle as some have suggested.

If being gay is so “great”, “wonderful” & “normal” then why do gays hide their true beliefs, pretend they aren’t gay & try to pass themselves off as being hetro? Seems to me they are ashamed of what they are. Someone please explain this to me. And why do they think they are entitled to special laws? I'd love a few laws changed and bent to suit my life.

Most gays come out whenever they want to. and umm can you name any "special laws" that gay people are asking for??? no , you cant. @janses08 "Special laws" such as gays wanting to marry people of the same sex? Last time I looked marriage is betweeen a man & woman. So gays aren't trying to change that law? Tax benefits that are allowed only for MARRIED couples. Once again marriage = man+ woman. Some gays want spousal work benefits. Spouse like in married, man+ woman.
