I saw a red backed jumping spider in some bamboo outside an apartment in Los Angeles today. It was scurrying really fast and I noticed a wasp flying around the top of the bamboo. The spider jumped from reed to reed, and amazingly caught the oblivious wasp. The hunt was badass. I never expected the wasp to be caught. There was no web involved. Just pure stalking.

Anyway, when I'm a kid Id used to catch small jumping spiders like this and keep them as "pet". I'd put it inside a glass jar and feed it with flies and stuff, seeing them hunting is really awesome.
