I work with a domestic violence/rape crisis center, my mother runs an animal rescue non profit, and many other people we know work in some capacity trying to hold back the floodgates of brutality and indifference in this world, and many of us are survivors of abuse, etc. If you look at the statistics of any horror in this world, it is overwhelming. This song is deeply, painfully true.

Amazing, powerful video -- just like Poison Girls' music. They are one of my favorite bands. Vi Subversa should be given credit by feminist s and especially the riot grrrrl scene for being one of the first real political feminist musicians (though I'm not sure that was her intention). Ever heard the song Rebel Girl by Bikini Kill? Not a Real Woman by Subversa is far more badass to me...though I like them both. thanks again!

What a thoughtfully composed video - the creative use of images and attention to lyrical detail really add an extra dimension to the song. Poison Girls were a great punk band, but get nowhere near the attention they deserve today, so it warms my heart that AnarchoAlan and others are flying the flag on YouTube for a new generation to see and hear.
