I remember watching amateur footage of some of the firefighters and other first responders in the first moments after the planes hit. I remember hearing people being interviewed on documentaries saying..
"I wish I could have stopped and grabbed them...tell them how it was all going to end."

I am a volunteer fireman from Denmark and I am willing to sacrifice my life in the battle against flames and terror if it is what it takes.

I remember watching amateur footage of some of the firefighters and other first responders in the first moments after the planes hit. I remember hearing people being interviewed on documentaries saying..
"I wish I could have stopped and grabbed them...tell them how it was all going to end."
I have come to realize that it wouldn't matter, they knew how it was going to end. They knew the risk along with the outcome. But saving others and accepting a probable death is why we call them heroes.

Thank you for posting this sir, a great tribute to the brave men and women that died that day.. Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.
I am right in the middle of my Fire Training at Cy-Fair VFD.. And i can only hope to be as brave and strong as these Men and Women... I'll tell you this much though.. When i do die, i hope it happens because i was saving another persons life.. Just as these Men and Women did.

This is so hard to watch. Im a volunteer fireman with DVFD, and listening to that dispatcher say a plane just hit the world trade center, damn. Its sends chills down my spine to this day. God bless america, god bless those first responders who gave their lives, and god bless all of those innocent men and women who have perished in this sensless act of violence and terrorism. 10 years later, the pain is still there.
