I am one of the highschoolers who did this. I was mostly involved in the painting of the squares and outlining (`cause I can't draw worth beans). It was a great experience all around; I'm honestly amazed it worked out as well as it did.
Oh, and BIG kudos to Lori, Karen, Jeff, David, and the other master artists and coordinators. Watching this unfold behind the scenes was perhaps the most impressive thing of all. Thanks for all the hours you guys put in, and for believing in your students for something so grand.
Congratulations are in order to the students, teachers, and volunteers at Foundations Academy and St. Ambrose Christian High School who weren't afraid to dream big and attempt the unbelieveable. It was an honor to watch it unfold and be a part of it all. Our kids will never forget it, nor will I! Thank you!
My kids attend this school and they absolutely thrive in an environment that teaches you how to think, rather than just how to find a job some day. My daughter is already in her 3rd year of Latin by 4th Grade. Its not just much higher test scores - its forming great citizens with high morale values and future leaders who challenge themselves and each other in the classical method of grammar, logic and rhetoric. This new school will help make it even better.
that looks like an awesome school! everyone looks so cool! especially that one girl...with the grey sweat shirt....i think her name was megan...or something. yeah she was pretty sweet
Check out the detail in the images early on with the kids in them. The final shots of the images without the kids were shot much later and are windblown with the chalk blurring.
I'm so proud of you wonderful students!!!!!!

Exciting. It was so much fun to be there working on this project. I have heard things from so many people outside of the school.
