RE: Red Tails not getting picked up for distro, I think it was because studios like the movie better when it came out 15 years ago and was called "The Tuskegee Airmen". I grew up watching Lucas movies, and playing Lucas games (I know, he didn't actually MAKE them, but many had his touch) so I mean no disrespect to the man, but Red Tails didn't need to be made. I know it's all PC to say they refused to pick it up because of the color of the cast, but let's be real here. It's bad.

Lucas has been milking the Star Wars cash cow empire (now in 3D) for the last 3 plus decades...maybe he should retire or at least try to do something different.There is so much great and original sci fi material out there that would make great movies by someone like Lucas with his resources and influence, maybe he should go in that direction. Red Tails didn't have a hard time finding distribution cause it had a predominantly African American cast, it had a hard time finding distribution cause the writing, directing, acting, editing, score, & overall film sucked. This notion that no one wanted anything to do w/ the movie because it featured black people is preposterous. I guess George Lucas has never seen Bad Boys, I Am Legend, Training Day or Beverly Hills Cop. Yep, people just don't show up to movies starring black people...

i don't think george lucas lost touch. I think his first projects were just the result of the work of a lot more people than him. After star wars was such a giant success his name made it so that he now had almost no one who would oppose his ideas. Ex. han solo was originally supposed to be an alien until someone said "hey uhhhh. No". Thus ideas like "Hey lets make vader a kid!", "well it needs more appeal to children" and "how bout a comic relief character! his name is JAR JAR" Dun dun duuunnn.
