I only ever bought his first album. Didn't realize there was so much more. Saw these guys live in... 97? They had toured into the US before coming back up through Canada.
I remember my friend giving me a promotional indie CD mix way back in '99 or '00 and Below The Sliding Doors was on it. I ended up getting the whole CD a little while later and I listened to that album over and over again because the whole thing was great. Definitely underrated....should have been on the radio, but as any American knows, FM radio around the country is absolutely putrid and rotten. And if you're a Canadian band,God help you break big in this country.
ENOUGH ALREADY!....what are we going to do?... gnatshit out of pepper, maybe a little change of degrees up your ass?. i don't have to be an ego-know it all to know this is a beautiful song without having to add insult and injury. read enough crapola here on this topic of who can win the pissing contest. the more you all repeat yourself, the more you lack! so lets all grow-up and just enjoy the music!
@silence418 - you really should think before you write, a law degree with a science or engineering background can be very lucrative. Think intellectual property, if you are capable of doing so.
I just don't fuckin' geddit...This song should've been a massive hit. Over a decade gone and it's still one of my all-time favorites. Lightyears better than Ben Folds and that over-played "Brick" song.
i love the last song on this album..."star behind the star"...good weed smokin music..this band kinda reminded me of pink floyd..as in a concept band, and very soothing music n smooth vibe..Canadian talent at its best!!
this song from day one had it's own special meaning , and special time no ?'sthere is no answer! remembering a time , when I and my wife was always listening to this, we always contemplated where our lives would go. we thought that we we're together and we had it made,, all this time to get here, and only maybe a decade to recollect time we missed together . but being so close and loving as soulmates perhaps. she has passed a year ago, and this song will bring me back to that time forever
@frippstar47 Wow. I cannot imagine your pain. I just spent a week in DC with my lifetime babe and it brings tears to my eyes to think of it without her. Actually I am crying my eyes out right now. Damn it! I never want to feel your pain. I could never live without my soulmate.
@jsilence418 I can understand why you'd make that comment. You know what though, it's hard to find something in life that makes you feel so passionate as to be able to shed a tear over it. If this works for frippstar to alleviate his pain then that's awesome. If I can empathize and also shed a tear then that is good for me too. I sincerely hope you have something in life that you too would bother to shed a tear over...
@MrFamulaw firstly stupid, my comment was aimed at mdeboard1 learn to read! secondly ,I prefer to do something other than cry , passion is action! if you stop to give way to self pity then you become as you are, a person of very little accomplishment, or understanding!
@MrFamulaw You leave such a small impression, no one remembers your name. No one cares about an overemotional, undereducated and overwhelmed nobody such as you! Didn't you even know that stupid?

@jsilence418 Still having trouble with the "Caps Lock" key are you? I see that you don't retain new skills very well. I was proud of you for using it in your previous post, but I know that it's hard to keep up with good habits. Especially for the mentally challenged. It's alright, compared to your other glaring flaws it's no big deal. Why are you a complete douche bag? That's another mystery that science will probably never solve.
@TheGoategg1 ??? you really should read the comments, the idiot known as famulaw made that call , he has no experience of university, no doubt he can't spell it either!
i have this cd it is kind of one of those cds where you get a surprise at really how good they are. hey they toured with neil young. not just anybody tours with him. besides when was the last time you heard a set of drums as the front instrument? and these guys pulled it off .
Is that Ken playing the keyboard? Anyway, yes this song is good but in NO WAY defines this band. "These pills never twice the same, a shallow walk in the ocean..."
@mediagod Because the "radio" played a lot of bullshit when this came out. The year this came out, the most popular crap was Britney Spears and Eminem.
@mediagod -- Pretty poor response considering they were considered an "indie" band, which typically doesn't get much mainstream fanfare. This entire album was fantastic, top to bottom. The band had an unfortunate end and those of us who know of them are fortunate in that itself.
I used to play bass in BTS....Jordon is a genius and it was a thrill to get a chance to play and work with him. Nice video, had already left the band by the, than goodness...what an invasion of privacy!

actually, not really a band, Blinker The Star is a project created by Jordon Zadorozny, instead of putting his name on his debut album, he came up with the BTS moniker. he has used a different band on each of his albums. the first album he played all of the instruments himself. as he is ding with his new Blinker The Star album, set for a early 2008 release. he's also producing a lot of bands now, and writing songs for other artists
I was kind of let down with Still in Rome, but I also reject the notion that they are a one hit wonder. For one thing, this song was barely a hit at all. Secondly, they have many songs that reach the sonic glory of Sliding Doors. Pretty Pictures and I Am a Fraction are right up there.
