@serpentinecreature Ya, and you sure dont.(?) I just chose to except reality, it has nothing to do with heartlessness, OR cruelty. & the reality is that when you lose someone, there is nothing anyone can say or do, that really will change the sense of the loss. Of course we all assume, being good people that a card, phone call, words, or anything will comfort the survivor of the loss. & that only, really comforts the person whos not the survivor. There's no cure for the pain of loss.get over it
@2skullscrushing Thanks for your response but maybe I should ask you,is this a statement that you suggest actually approaching the grieving person(to their actual face)and ridiculing them for their grief or do you mean that we must, within ourselves, come to grips with our loss and move on and not "wallow in self-pity? There absolutely is NOTHING wrong with letting a person in grief know that,in this period, you are willing,if needful,to aid them. Now "wallowing in self-pity" is surely null!
@serpentinecreature The latter, I would never give an opinion to a grieving person. I meant within ourselves. I believe that when we comfort someone who had a loss, we do it to identify & address, our own losses. We relate with them to heal from ours. Its the loving part God gave us. But for me, i feel that coming to the conclusion to yourself, that your lonely is kind of selfish. We actually experience this world alone, & only relate that experience to each other, together.Isnt God close by too?
@serpentinecreature (2) Also, just read the others comments. the scene makes them sad, even though they are an outside viewer. They cant feel his identical sadness, that he ,inside himself, feels. They can only compare it to their own, & that is where are compassion comes from to comfort others, because it really heals us, & helps us heal. I just think if people understand this, it might help them get on better.Loneliness is a state of mind, just govern that state properly, & it helps to deal.
I agree with you that the majority of people can't feel the actual sadness of Frank Black but, in retrospect there are those of us who can relate to his character. All in all Lance Henriksen did an impeccable job as Frank Black in Millennium.
@DeadTed88 the conversation me and the other guy had was about people. We only used this clip , and this scenario, as an example. so ya we really didnt give two shits about the show in the first place.
This scene is when Frank loses his father and Jordan asks Frank if he feels lonely without his mother and father. The episode is entitled The Fourth Horseman which concludes with the season finale episode The Time is Now.
I remember Winterfuhr showing me this video week or two before he left to a better place.
