Thank you for viewing the Video. Incidentally, tomorrow is the 5th of Oct.; - exactly 3 Years Anniversary of his passing! Please tell us how you know him, Where and who you are in Benin. That'll be nice to know!
I am the wife of Senator Ehigie Edobor Uzamere. When I look at the beautiful custom all feel is anger. No one from the Bini community gave a crumb of bread to the Black American child that Senator Uzamere abandoned.
Even when I showed proof, all I received was outright hatred. My daughter -- a Bini child by birth, experienced scorn from the Bini people.
I don't respect the culture.
Please note: If Sen. Uzamere does not come to court on 7/25/08, a warrant will go out for his arrest.
What has bini culture got to do with your private life with your husband??? Is't the culture that gave you to him?? Think twice before you make comment here. And never you inshut our culture!!! If you respect yourself; you also respect culture of the world we are living. The culture has got not thing to do with what ever Senator did to you!!! We the Binis were not there what ever happend between you both , is your love life with him.
Thank you for this informative video. My fiance is from Benin City, and I love his deep culture. He is teaching me and the kids the language, and we plan to go to Benin City as soon as possible. I am eager to learn more and more... and videos like this are very helpful. If people want to help, they should consider micro-lending programs that lend money to businesses in Benin City and help people provide for their families and keep the money in the Benin City communities.
Hi Alluring Shrew! > I'm an igbo, from Imo state and my Fiancé is also from Benin city, I'm so facinated about his culture, but unfortunately he doesn't speak his language, video's like this gives me a greater idea of what his culture is about. eowoghiren thanks for posting this video and hope to see more (^_^)b
I love this video and this man will always be a heroe in out time. as a traditional man, it simply means that he has contribute inmensly in one way or the other to protect out culture. may his soul rest in a perfect peace. he must have be a very responsible chief. may God grant the families to bear this pain and also be very proud that they have such a responsble father. rest in peace on thy lord.
lovely lovely lovely!!! May your father's soul rest in eternal perfect peace. Benin City is our home, red sand or not it's where i call home. And i pray for God to help us deliver it from all this corruption and negativity associated with it. God Bless!!! OBA GHA TOR OKPERE, ISE!!!!!
Choclatthoney, ko temwen. Uruese vbemwenu tare. Koyo Dear. Thanks for your comment regarding my Dear Dad (Chief Egbe O. Woghiren). You are right, Benin City is our 'Home'. We must do what we can to bring Benin back to its Glory! I am doing my bit to help out. Visit my Sites; ewef dot org, edwinwoghiren dot com, and woghirenunion dot com. Spred the word arround. We must help our own! Oghare ghayon, tagha simwiotor nogheromwan. ta ruemwinyo wor mwan! OBA GHA TOR OKPERE, ISE!!!!!
Very well, we are Bini's; a very proud people with a valued culture and should be proud of what we are, this video has brought back loads of memories. The Bini's are a difficult tribe whom seems not to love themselves, a people with great culture and a standing tradition, Benin city seems to be backward in most aspect of life. its people are helpless, i hope for the togetherness of the Bini people.
Thank you for your nice comment. Like you, Benin City is our home town and we love it too. Like they say; Home is 'Home', and there is no place like one's own home, whether it is a 'Shack' or not! More of this Video will be posted soon. Please watch some more and spread the word arround.
if you are an african you dont ask such questions!!. in yoruba land when you pass and your children are already adults with their own children you dont wear black . you celebrate life, when my father died we wore PINK.. because all of us where grown ups..but when a child dies. we wear black to mourn the child as the parents are still living and the child has not grown to adulthood.. and the yorubas do not attend the buriel of their children as you are not supposed to bury your child..
What do you mean if you are an African you dont ask such questions? Questions are asked because the person is curious, interested or simply does not know. Just what is that statement suppose to mean. Another reason why Africans like you (not most, as we have intelligient, sophiticated Africans around) are looked down on. You cant answer a question without insulting someone first. You get a chance to showcase your culture and instead, like a fool, you wasted the opportunity.
this is precisely why americans are the most hated people on planet earth.. what sort of answer is that ? do you think you are the only people out there? so the only intelligent africans are the ones who kiss your ass?. that was a typical answer and as i said only a non african would ask a question like that.. get over yourself yank and as for showcasing my culture, go and get yourself a culture to showcase and then talk you fool, you are the ones wasting opportunity out there . moron..
Once again spoken like a complete idoit. Do not presume to make assumptions... Aside of a computer screen, I am definitely sure, in real life, you, are exactly the sort, I do not consort with and that is my last remark to you.
look , i really have no time for stupid self absorbed americans who think the world revolves around their very limited experience of the rest of this planet. once again AFRICA IS A CONTINENT .. get it.? next.....

death is a natural part of life, and when you live a good one, it should be celebrated.
bluest29 4 years ago
It seems strange, but it is considered normal, also why we wear white for funerals instead of black. to celebrate the dead's life.
