@cathode1990 This song was recorded 20 years before Paul passed. Marie was a big fan of Paul's.  They also recorded another duet a couple years before this one called "You're Still New To Me". Marie also covered Paul's "Cry Just A Little" and he wrote Marie's other big duet "Meet Me In Montana" and co-wrote another song on a diferent album "99% Of The Time".

Paul Davis was a popular 70's/early 80's adult contemporary singer, but seemed to prefer country. He had a strong influence in the career of Dan Seals, Marie Osmond and Tanya Tucker in the 80's. Marie Osmond remade this as well as "Cry Just A Little" (original, 1980) as well as the fact Davis wrote "Meet Me In Montana". He also had a duet with her on "You're Still New To Me".

I have always liked this song. This is a very good duet. It sounds if this was a part two of the original song. Too many great singers have left us recently!....Dan Fogelberg, Rick James and now Paul Davis! None of them got the fame that they deserved. Paul Davis exploded as a firecracker and quickly faded. I still like the 'original' "Sweet Life" with Paul singing solo but this version with Marie is a very close second (you never can have too many great versions of an excellent song!!). Marie, as always, does a great job singing in this song. No doubt about it, Paul Davis was a great musician. Paul, thank you for all of the great songs and songwriting (this song was co-written by Paul Davis and Susan Collins)!!!

Thanks for posting this one. I wish he and Marie had done more duets together. I was so sad to hear today that Paul Davis passed away April 22 2008 of a heart attack. He had such a pure voice and was such a great songwriter.
