Powdered macaroni and cheese has way too much salt. just like with ramen, if I start eating it habitually, I'll show high blood pressure when I get my blood pressure checked. If I don't, I don't test high blood pressure. I never add salt to anything, which is good, because my body obviously has a low tolerance for salt. Both of these foods have extremely high sodium content.
''It's un American'' Actually, I think saying it's un-Canadian would be more accurate. It's considered a national food up hear along with beaver tails, maple syrup and beer.
@mattman1991woot Don't bother, they taste like shit. I mean, ramen noodles and easy mac don't taste particularly good, but at least they are edible. Potstickers don't even have that going for them. Stick with ramen noodles and easy mac.

A lot of young men just don't gain weight until they reach a certain age. I guess it might have to do with that guys develop later than girls? That and just being guys and needing a gigaton of energy.

They say it as if it goes through some machine that magically removes some mystical energy from it that it otherwise would have had. There's no difference between the atoms of something "processed" and something that you ate that was somehow "unprocessed".
@mophosophical Processed in this term is basically shitty quality food that has been laced with thousands of chemicals to make it resemble something edible. Seriously, you know how they make chicken nuggets and stuff? They buy chicken carcasses in bulk, use a high pressure machine to blow the meat off the bones, grind the remaining stuff down into a a fine paste, dye it so it looks white, put >9000 flavor enhancers/preservatives in it so its edible, and shape it into a nugget/chicken shape. nice
@TheEmptyHunter Don't understand how hard it is to get real mac and cook it lol taste better then easy mac. When you cook it yourself taste way better.
OMG easy mac are u serious, i ate that once and it smelt, looked an tasted like chunder, could not stomach it, i think u would have to eat it from an early age to adjust to the putrid sludge that is easy mac. NO CHUNDER DOWN UNDER!
Helping yourself to cooking you need money first and tools like rice cooker hot water dispenser a table chairs this and that and a lot of materials. Takes awhile too.HMM this brings me back to those days just getting started and having nothing.
i eat a lot of frozen food although it's mainly just frozen chicken along with frozen or canned vegetables. gotta eat healthy man, keep those muscles as tools of the trade.
Just make rice.... a rice cooker, steam veggies, and that's about it.
Sure, it sucks spending 10min preparing it and 35min waiting for it to cook, but it's a VERY delicious meal if you can add some veggie meat to it and some panda express sauce!!
my smart ass ordered delivery or went out for dinner every day freshman year! not only did i gain a shit ton of weight but i also finished freshman year BROKE. now i live off of cheap fruit, cheap nuts, and cup noodles...i hate my life
For me I think I am lucky because I figured it out for some extent... into my 20 30 40 is going to be interesting as for into my 45 50 60 70... mostly career building hustling getting everything together and just maintaining and caring for my family. Seems a like a lot to manage and multi-task as if money is never an issue and transportation is never an issue. I hope I can get to a point where I can have financial stability. SIGH**
Uh what else? IDK... I know college within it self to get there is such a hassle and a confusion. Then with being there staying there getting through it is going to be a hassle. UGH... now with the after undergraduate what is next? Then also with into your twenties 30 40 50 60 70.. It is going to be interesting I think.
I wish I could redo everything and do it right and make it right. Then also I wish I had that to go guide for life in college undergraduate then beyond. But it is a little late but still helping. So much confusion. So many complications.
May someone send in a video about navigating all the resources at the university and how that is confusing with speaking with your programme director undergraduate/ graduate adviser... how to make use of the tutoring centre the career centre... financial aid office then with the studying abroad? UGH** I feel frustrated already.. there are issues with registration... then with just purchasing of the materials. Problems problems.
First year is always the toughest because you are getting situated and just making sense of so much information some survive and come back but some most do not that is the problem. So you have to be really mentally well adjusted and just be able to take care of yourself. If college whether undergrad or graduate you have to be pro-active BUT really in life you have to be PRO-active and independent all the time.
I roomed with domestic students then with international students. It was all a disaster.. some dropped out first year some dropped out during the year... some everyone was crazy...Just trust yourself.
For me dorm life did not work out. It was so crazy with the RA RA director then to the flat mates... it was hell for me. I hated the school food everything was a disaster. So this time coming around... I just no DORM no flat mates no dorm food. I just live by myself and I just cook for myself. Everything is just easier because I do not have to deal with flat mates flat mates lifestyle issues or conflicts in rent payments this or that. It is ridiculous.
Sometimes broken down even/odd and input work volunteer clubs internship... things of that matter. Then personal hygiene cleaning cooking caring taking other household issues onto the weekend.
I just take care of money management issues financial aid in the very beginning. Set that straight. Then put off shopping for groceries cooking and setting everything up for the whole week into the weekend. So my week with from weekdays early morning to evening = classes then evening to afternoon night= studying throughout the whole week.
This was something I faced during my freshemen yer and then will forever into my life. I guess it is much more exciting new and just the sensation is heightened I guess. Takes awhile to piece together too if are dealing with money management time management and having transportation issues. For me
As an internationals student we all face a different hurdle. Of course we too are students and we have to learn how to cook clean and care for ourselves. However it is just so much difficult because we are dealing with different currency. Then understanding the banking system. Making our way to the market figuring out the bus takes awhile. Then getting it altogether. It is really difficult for us because we have a language barrier and cultural differences.
That is interesting that even at a freshmen year they learned themselves to go to the supermarket and to cook because most people never learn the trajectory of going to the market figuring out how to navigate the market what to purchase sort our their money have a budget and to put everything together to learn how to cook. Cooking happens in the morning evening night and in between. This is interesting.
I'm with Jayar, I couldn't gain weight while I was in college. funny enough, I and many of us lost weight... mainly because of the dining hall and the location of my school. Our dining hall (Chartwells... otherwise known as SHARTwells) was so disgusting, you couldn't eat there without ending up on the porcelain God for hours.
I love cooking! Hell, if I had the sanity to take an education in the US then I'd be in charge of making food every single day... And It'd be delicious.
I'm a guy and living in a dorm right now, I don't eat out, I cook all my food. I make spaghetti, chili, tacos, salad, black beans and rice, chicken and dumplings, potatoes sausage and cabbage, indian food, eggs sausage and hashbrowns (I peel and shred the potatoes and cook them myself), salads, sandwiches with lettuce tomato onion cheese lunch meat and mustard, etc., etc., etc. I don't understand why people don't cook food, it's a hell of a lot healthier, cheaper, and better tasting.
Now I'm really all about the Rockstar Fruit Punch. THAT is amazing! One of the best energy drinks of all fucking time. I don't even GIVE A FUCK if Michael Savage's son owns the co. What's the WORST he's gonna do, use some of his wealth to contribute to a conservative candidate? Big deal.
Regular Rockstar, though, kind of tastes like Skittles. Or something like that. Skittles is the closest "flavor" that comes to mind whenever I drink it.
Luckily the last 2 years of college, my dorms were pretty close to this cool campus convenience store called Hitt. St. Market. So late at night if I didn't have "enough" food left over, I might just go there and get a few things. I probably spent close to $500 (at least) there over the course of my college life. I got SO MANY Amp Tall Boy energy drinks; it's not even funny. I remember when Hitt St. used to sell Tall Boy ones of the RED Amp (cherry or some shit), and THAT was awesome.
Plus, this guy's rationale doesn't make any sense. You're "too lazy" to walk from your dorm to a dining hall, but you'll take the effort to get in your car (or ride a bike or whatever), deal with traffic and go to Trader Joe's?
Even I didn't just go to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's or Walmart or wherever ALL the time. I actually did get a lot of stuff from the dining hall area,s although I didn't eat the cooked food myself since my campus had 'takeout' locations with all kinds of pre-made foods and shit that I could still use my meal plan on. Plus, I was too impatient to wait in line for like 20 minutes to basically get a burger and little else cuz they almost never had much awesome or good choices, tbh.
So... he's WASTING the money he pays for room and board by NOT eating on campus AT ALL?
Why spend the extra money at a store?? Unless you're rich or something, that's just stupid. Foregoing a hot, cooked meal (although most dining halls aren't much of a step up from K-12 cafeterias in the end) to get... RAMEN?? What a doofus.
I could understand if he lived in an APARTMENT and not the dorms and didn't have a meal plan... but why do this shit if you're on a meal plan and whatnot? fool
when i was first on campus in college i was in a regular dorm room, no kitchen; all of my money went to my music books and music stuffs, therefore i had a meal plan within the cafeteria, which completely sucks by the way. nonetheless i still ate my heart out, i gained like 30lbs up until my first fall break. a lot of my friends now that i met back then didn't gain any. my best friend at the time, well she was like 125lbs and she lost 20lbs due to depression. meh, everyone's different i guess.
the college dorm food is worse then what they are eating what they are eating they should be able to maintain weight i didnt gain weight when i was in college but its because of what i ate i didnt have dorm food so thats why i didnt and ha bisky upload
Kraft is the best. Also, my sophomore year I lived off of crackers. Lots and lots of crackers. Some cheese in there, too. Come to think of it, I should've tried the Kraft cheese powder on my crackers...
First year I had a dining hall in my dorm which was nice but second year I had to walk about 5 minutes to get to the dining hall which isn't a big deal in the spring and early fall but when it's below zero in the winter I rather just eat ramen for dinner lol.
@MrCrazyCanuk More likely the government corn subsidies that make fast food, soda, and junk half the price of a real meal, at the tax payer's expense.
id recomend learning how to cook for your self adn invest in a sams card you can eat pretty cheap and pretty good if you either buy in bulk for your self or if you have 4-5 buds throw in
I basically lived on Easy Mac when the dining hall wasn't open my sophomore year. I didn't have to worry about gaining any weight because like Jayar I couldn't keep the pounds on. Still can't, actually. I knew a lot of people that ate a disgusting amount of ramen, though, and my brother eats a lot of dry oatmeal packets. So gross.
@rvggarcon I think going to whole foods was a big mistake in the first place. Whole foods is so expensive and a waste of money. Use your college brain to shop somewhere cheaper to purchase food.
@andrew20x Hey genius, I don't go around being a narcissistic fool and bragging about something as meaningless as what place I posted in. And besides, it's "you're" not "your." So, who's the idiot now? :D
You know what I do? Get a loaf of whole grain bread, some slices of chicken/turkey, cheese, and a little a bit of mayo. Takes about 5 min to make, and you won't gain a damn pound. In fact, you'll probably lose a few pounds.

What a moron
whoo689 4 months ago
Even I didn't just go to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's or Walmart or wherever ALL the time. I actually did get a lot of stuff from the dining hall area,s although I didn't eat the cooked food myself since my campus had 'takeout' locations with all kinds of pre-made foods and shit that I could still use my meal plan on. Plus, I was too impatient to wait in line for like 20 minutes to basically get a burger and little else cuz they almost never had much awesome or good choices, tbh.
whoo689 4 months ago
So... he's WASTING the money he pays for room and board by NOT eating on campus AT ALL?
Why spend the extra money at a store?? Unless you're rich or something, that's just stupid. Foregoing a hot, cooked meal (although most dining halls aren't much of a step up from K-12 cafeterias in the end) to get... RAMEN?? What a doofus.
I could understand if he lived in an APARTMENT and not the dorms and didn't have a meal plan... but why do this shit if you're on a meal plan and whatnot? fool

a kitchen?! lucky sob's. all i got is a damn microwave
dannyledwith21 4 months ago
when i was first on campus in college i was in a regular dorm room, no kitchen; all of my money went to my music books and music stuffs, therefore i had a meal plan within the cafeteria, which completely sucks by the way. nonetheless i still ate my heart out, i gained like 30lbs up until my first fall break. a lot of my friends now that i met back then didn't gain any. my best friend at the time, well she was like 125lbs and she lost 20lbs due to depression. meh, everyone's different i guess.

Is there a way to submit videos for regular TYT. It would be really cool to ask Cenk questions on politics.

Ana, I love how you're saying that it's 'Unamerican" to not eat unhealthy instant food. Sums up the obesity epidemic right there.

So gross.

I just go to whole foods and about 99% of what I get is prepared food from there or frozen meals. LOL I hate cooking.

@rvggarcon I think going to whole foods was a big mistake in the first place. Whole foods is so expensive and a waste of money. Use your college brain to shop somewhere cheaper to purchase food.

You know what I do? Get a loaf of whole grain bread, some slices of chicken/turkey, cheese, and a little a bit of mayo. Takes about 5 min to make, and you won't gain a damn pound. In fact, you'll probably lose a few pounds.
C'mon people, it's NOT THAT HARD.
