how would that tax you more, even if you smoked weed everyday it should lower your cost, because if they over taxed it you'd just get it from back alley folks or grow your own.

i have NO problem with a consumption tax under a Republic...but, under a socialist/statist system, the consumption tax adds fuel to the fire...the fire being an increasing size and scope of government...if we still had a Republic, this tax would be wonderful...seeing as we are borderline communist, this tax allows the government to spread the taxed dollars to whatever existing/new program it wants...this is the reason i oppose any taxes under our government today.

Why should they when alcohol is demonstrably POISONOUS to the body, where as cannabis is NOT?!

The theoretical amounts required for "cannabis toxicity" are practically IMPOSSIBLE for people to consume.

There are no corpses attributable to "cannabis overdose." The same cannot be said of alcohol, which lands people in morgues for toxic overdose with great regularity, or due to long term effects of alcohol consumption.

There's little/no evidence of cancer deaths due to cannabis smoking either.
