  • Wow....he IS the best Shatner

  • I shared this vid with a few friends at work & they were blown away!!! I come back here often & laugh with much appreciation for the talent of this guy. I would love for Shatner to hear this bit. Scotty is portrayed perfectly, as he almost never has a definitive answer for Capt. Kirk. Here, he offers a knock-knock joke & doesn't even know the answer for THAT, which is par for the course for Scotty. Alaskey sounds EXACTLY like Kirk, & mimics him perfectly. This guy has no equal. Leave this up!!!

  • Regarding Alaskey's Jackie Gleason impression, Alaskey was actually contracted by movie studios to perform the actual voice-overs for Gleason in some movies that Gleason starred in in the 1980's due to his failing health.

  • Six people are not going bowling tonight.

  • he doesn't look like gleason anymore

  • Two thumbs up -- great!

  • fuck i think i broke my spine

  • He does the cartoon voices in tribute to Mel Blanc, the Man of 1000 Voices. Though I'd love new standup.

  • Thanks for uploading this. I never heard of this guy, but I had to replay his Shatner a few times cause I was laughing so hard. I had tears in my eyes. Brilliant. Thanks again for turning me onto this great clip. Kudos!

  • his Nicholson in leave it to beaver is scary good

  • He resembles a young Jackie Gleason.

  • This guy is funny. And I HATE stand up.

  • He used to be the "voice" guy on the Loren and Wally show on Boston morning radio... I saw him at Boston's COMEDY CONNECTION in the early '80's, and I seem to recall he did an entire episode of "Rocky & Bullwinkle..." I mean an ENTIRE episode, start to finish, including "Fractured Fairytales" and "Mr. Peabody."

"Roger Rabbit" was his entree into the BIG time... and then he left us.

  • @tuxguys He left us? Are you sure? Wikipedia says he's still alive, you better let them (and Joe) know about this.

  • @SgtTravisBickle Not sure at all! I thought I'd heard that, hope it's wrong.

  • @Jamman1214

    Sorry, wrong s/n.

  • impressionist eh well he does have the manuerisms but he fails in alot of voices, i've seen much better. but he is good

  • OMG! I've never seen Annie Hall, but Shatner as Allen just killed me!

  • LOL, just thinking of Don Knotts as Lincoln is hilarious, never mind the first-rate impersonation!

  • Joe Alaskey has John Candy Quality. FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY

  • Never heard of him but he's great!

  • Well titles video clip. Indeed he is the forgotten Impressionist.

  • Is his right lapel tucked inside by accident?

  • hes the voice of Plucky duck too

  • He has voiced Grandpa Lou Pickles on Rugrats, after the death of voice actor David Doyle in 1997. Joe's also done voice acting in video games; he voiced Curt Connons in Spider Man 2 video game and Doctor Optopus in Spider Man: Friend or Foe, also SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! and SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab as Mermaid Man. He's very talented, his Jackie Glesson impersonation is spot on!

  • wikipedia is amazing isnt it..

  • When did this guy die?

  • @Shadow4000000 haha he's not dead

  • @promisingattempt I am glad you understood my question...

  • @ Shadow4000000 about five minutes into his act.

  • I thought he was deceased? Not dead in the act sheesh...try to look past my question as if this guy wasn't around anymore...I only wondered if this guy passed away sometime ago because of what the people on here were saying about him. I love this guy

  • He remind very much of John Candy. But not only apperence, there are also something else. I really miss that guy which fell in sleep far too soon.

  • Stewie @ 5:04 ?

  • Check out the Jheri Curl at 1:35

    So fucking funny.

  • he may be forgotten in the mainstream but in animated cartoons he's one of the most popular voice actors. he's the voice of Sylvester and Daffy Duck, taking over those character voices from Mel Blanc. In the series DUCK DODGERS, of course, Joe was the voice of Daffy.

On TINY TOONS he did the voice of Plucky Duck. I'm only guessing but I assume Joe did the stand-up circuit as a means of having a steady income? Perhaps doing cartoon voices was a goal of his?

  • On the contrary, Joe wanted and pursued a stand up career as his true passion. Doing the animation voices was how he paid (and continues to pay) the bills. I'm sure he would've loved a film or TV career, too. He only stared in one film in the 80's... not very memorable.

  • ist it funny - if you impersonate somebody, they have no idea it's them.

  • Was that Russ Meyer in the audience at :29?

  • Awesome! With all due respect to Brad Garrett, this man: Mr. Alaskey, should have played the Great One a.k..a. Jackie Gleason in that CBS TV-movie "Gleason" a while back in my humble opinion.

  • A very funny and talented man... I love him as Ralph and Norton. By far the best.
