I shared this vid with a few friends at work & they were blown away!!! I come back here often & laugh with much appreciation for the talent of this guy. I would love for Shatner to hear this bit. Scotty is portrayed perfectly, as he almost never has a definitive answer for Capt. Kirk. Here, he offers a knock-knock joke & doesn't even know the answer for THAT, which is par for the course for Scotty. Alaskey sounds EXACTLY like Kirk, & mimics him perfectly. This guy has no equal. Leave this up!!!
Regarding Alaskey's Jackie Gleason impression, Alaskey was actually contracted by movie studios to perform the actual voice-overs for Gleason in some movies that Gleason starred in in the 1980's due to his failing health.
@crazyhorse99999 hes doing voice over work for warner bros, he does sylvester's, tweety's, and pepe le pew's voices in an upcoming show called the looney tunes show based on the original looney tunes
I've been watching this GREAT spot every few days since I first saw it a month ago. Thanks so much for this incredible vid. Everyone he does is dead on. I hope this stays posted for good! If you take this down, please let me know where you got this clip so I can download or buy it.
Thanks for uploading this. I never heard of this guy, but I had to replay his Shatner a few times cause I was laughing so hard. I had tears in my eyes. Brilliant. Thanks again for turning me onto this great clip. Kudos!
He used to be the "voice" guy on the Loren and Wally show on Boston morning radio... I saw him at Boston's COMEDY CONNECTION in the early '80's, and I seem to recall he did an entire episode of "Rocky & Bullwinkle..." I mean an ENTIRE episode, start to finish, including "Fractured Fairytales" and "Mr. Peabody."
"Roger Rabbit" was his entree into the BIG time... and then he left us.
He has voiced Grandpa Lou Pickles on Rugrats, after the death of voice actor David Doyle in 1997. Joe's also done voice acting in video games; he voiced Curt Connons in Spider Man 2 video game and Doctor Optopus in Spider Man: Friend or Foe, also SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! and SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab as Mermaid Man. He's very talented, his Jackie Glesson impersonation is spot on!
I thought he was deceased? Not dead in the act sheesh...try to look past my question as if this guy wasn't around anymore...I only wondered if this guy passed away sometime ago because of what the people on here were saying about him. I love this guy

This guy is neither funny, nor accurate. It's undeniable he is a good voice actor since... he has work, but he's not as impressive as Frank Gorshin, Rich Little, Frank Caliendo etc. He's really the same as any other impressionist.
he may be forgotten in the mainstream but in animated cartoons he's one of the most popular voice actors. he's the voice of Sylvester and Daffy Duck, taking over those character voices from Mel Blanc. In the series DUCK DODGERS, of course, Joe was the voice of Daffy.
On TINY TOONS he did the voice of Plucky Duck. I'm only guessing but I assume Joe did the stand-up circuit as a means of having a steady income? Perhaps doing cartoon voices was a goal of his?
On the contrary, Joe wanted and pursued a stand up career as his true passion. Doing the animation voices was how he paid (and continues to pay) the bills. I'm sure he would've loved a film or TV career, too. He only stared in one film in the 80's... not very memorable.
Awesome! With all due respect to Brad Garrett, this man: Mr. Alaskey, should have played the Great One a.k..a. Jackie Gleason in that CBS TV-movie "Gleason" a while back in my humble opinion.
Wow....he IS the best Shatner
