I don't know about the canson brand, but the point is to use thin paper to allow a high degree of saturation. This allows you to blend colors without fear of streaking or unevenness
@ardhanariswar There are papers available that are strictly for the use markers. The paper is normal density, but the way it's made allows your markers to blend.
I bought a pack of 12 at Dick Blick's for around $50. Called Copic Markers, they're solvent based and blend really well. Mad expensive, but they're awesome (I had a gift card). I wish I had more colors though, the colors in my pack are too bold.
do those markers bleed through canson sketch pads

Great design but one thing i think would make this desgin look better is instead of drawing the hair up draw it down, it will look better
