  • He is a good man. At least he keeps his promise "WORK FOR YOU." I wish all politicians in DC remember working FOR PEOPLE

  • Joseph Cao is a nit-wit.

  • This Cao voted against the stimulus and the budget despite saying otherwise. He's a total pushover and can't work independent from Boehner. Get rid of this loser Louisiana!

  • Its funny how you libs can never admit anything is your fault.

  • LOL, we're JUST done with the worst presidency in US history that you conservative lemmings supported all the way and WE can't admit our faults?

If there is any group more whiny, childish and unable to take any responsibility whatsoever than conservatives I have yet to meet them.

Anyway Cao said he would vote for the stimulus but he's a little bitch and a complete pushover, this was his second chance and the same thing happened. So I say Louisiana get rid of Cao.

  • Joseph Cao rocks! He was absolutely right to vote against the so-called "stimulus" bill. Unemployment continues to rise, even as the deficits soar and inflation lurks. Even Joe Biden has admitted that it was a failed endeavor!

  • Health Care?

    Noob.

  • The background sound sound likes one of McCain's ads. Anyways, it is good. Congrulation on becoming my new congressman. I am Vietnamese and I am pround that a Vietnamese is actually representating me.

  • Yep..same here. He made me proud.

  • Congratulations Joseph Cao! Simply awesome!

  • Yes and I highly doubt Obama will do anything for his starving half brother in Kenya who lives in a tiny hut and makes a dollar a month.

  • Ha Ha so freaking funny that Jefferson lost to a NOBODY. That guy ran very little ad, had no debate with Jefferson, and was not endorsed by any news paper or anyone in politics. Talk about David beating Golith!

Even funnier! He's not black and a Republican!

  • This ad counts and The New Orleans Times-Picayune endorsed him as well, the reason this happened is because every political forecaster labeled this race as "Safe Democrat".

  • congrats congressman Cao, from canada

  • i'm chinese and i'm proud of this fu. he's only 41, has ba in physics ma in philosophy and phd in law... was a prof and lawyer and now a fucking congressman. god bless america!

  • He was born in Vietnam so that kinda disqualified him. However, if he is a good congressman he could either run for Senate or Govenor in the future.

  • Hey he can fake a birth certificate like Obama did.

  • If he can get re elected a few times, he could challenge Mary Landrieu in 2014.

  • Who cares if Blacks outnumber Vietnamese in New Orleans, we get it, you don't like Vietnamese and you spew your bigoted hate speech by calling him a gook and an Uncle Tom, you are racist and you love Ho Chi Minh a COMMUNIST it proves Dems like you love communism.

  • I dont't care how much this cow wanna be con-servative con man, he still an Asian uncle tom

  • And you're still a racist commie asshole, by the way its hes not he.

  • By the way its Viets or Vietnamese, learn to spell dipshit, you say you're 53 yrs old I doubt it.

  • Its VIETS not Viiets or VIETS, thats not the "same shit". How old do you claim to be? 52? You behave like a 7 year old.

  • I'm very proud of the good people of New Orleans for ousting that crook Jefferson. Those of you who listen to Dick Bartley on Saturday nights be sure to listen this weekend the 13th.I plan to make a dedication to Jefferson. The Beatles classic "I'm a Loser."

  • That's is great for America and VietNam, especial for overseas Vietnamese, and relation between 2 country....

  • yes...that's y Arnold Swansdjkajak(can't spell his freaking last name, governor from California) can't run for president even if he wanted too.

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger?

  • more like his daughter...he can't run since he wasn't born in the US...

  • I would have preferred the first Vietnamese elected to congress to be a democrat or another party other than republican. The older generation of Vietnamese are known to support the republican party because they equate the iraq war to the vietnam war and see Americans as liberators. However, the younger generation of vietnamese americans are much more liberal and the GOP doesn't represent them. I'm vietnamese american and the republican party doesn't share the same values with me.

  • so look like a future Vietnamese-American president is not out of reach...i'll say in about 50 years :D kekekek

  • Congrats!

  • Hey i saw you on the news. Way to go man! i hated that Jefferson guy

  • I am a Democrat, and I probably don't agree with Rep-elect Cao on a lot of issues, but congratulations on the historic win and getting rid of that corrupt bastard Jefferson.

  • Ya, I'll agree with you on that one too.

  • I am very proud of you sir. Although i am an African, your sucess just like that of Obama is quit remarkable. I hope you will be relected in 2010.

  • He might, regardless of the historical Democrat trend most of the Representatives have been Conservative Democrats, this guy is very Conservative, it just might play well with the black voter base here, but for now I don't know. He relied on a low turnout and he got one, carrying the Rep leaning Jefferson Parish. It could be his key to victory in future elections.

  • Make us proud, Anh

  • congrats...

  • Awesome... he's going to in history, first Viet-Am in the congress. you represent the Viet-Am community well Mr. Cao and we are very proud of you. Congratulations.

  • So much for kooky Democrats saying that there is not "diversity" in the Republican Party. Also the white turnout for Mr. Cao was DOUBLE that of blacks for William Jefferson. Way too go Mr.Cao congrats !! The Rebuilding of the party is off to a good start.

  • xpandergt, I agree with your comment. They think that the Republican Party is nothing but white Christian people, like what Howard Dean says. I guess they forgot people like Assemblyman Van Tran (R-CA), future Rep. Joseph Cao (R-LA), Sen. Mel Martinez (R-FL), Condoleezza Rice, Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Elaine Chao, and others. Hearing about Joseph Cao winning and becoming the first Vietnamese-American in Congress made my day today. And yes..I am Vietnamese-American too.

  • Van Tran? An assemblyman from California? What part does he represent?

  • he represents Costa Mesa (his office is there), Anaheim, Newport Beach, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Stanton, and Westminster in the great Orange County, California.

  • Basically the L.A suburbs right? I'm currently live in the valley.

  • Yep.

  • Amen to that brother!

  • xpandergt, yep!!! it was. And I agree with you, the rebuilding of the party is off to a good start.

  • With Michael Steele running for RNC Chairman well be off to an even better start.

  • yep..exactly.

  • Still a proud2bracist eh?

  • Its not a regional party, if it was then the Democrats would of been a regional party by now, if you want to say regions, they're all strong in the midwest and the west, including Dixie, but who cares, Obama is another Jimmy Carter, he promised change too and look what happened. Surely you're able to remember that.

  • Obama= Bill Clinton if not better.

I don't mind J.C, at least his record was far superior than the idiot we have in the White House from Crawford, TX.

  • The same Clinton who raised taxes? The same Clinton who got a blowjobs in the White House, the same Clinton who left office with a deficit, the same Clinton who was impeached and his administration was mired in scandal? Clinton was a great President NOT!

  • Hey dipshit I don't like Bush either, do you even now what impeachment means? He was impeached just not successfully removed from office, of course America started tanking AFTER the Dems took control of Congress, funny isn't it?

  • You are an idiot.. It's funny how you cons always have to make excuses for the dismal wreck you leave behind.

US presidents since the great depression ranked by annual econ growth:

    1) FDR 8%

    2) Truman 6.7%

    3) LBJ 5.5%

    4) JFK 5.4%

    5) Clinton 3.6%

    6) Reagan 3.3%

    7) Carter 3.9%

Nixon, Eisenhower, Ford, Bush jr and Bush sr follow in that order.

  • I'm an idiot? How childish and immature.

  • @bittergunowner

Not as childish and immature as your failure to take ANY responsibility for your dismal record is. Btw there was a typo I meant to type 3.0% growth for Carter.. Hence why he's 7th.

  • What dismal record? I'm not a politician, but hey Dems are the ones responsible the collapse of the financial instuations and the AIG bonuses. But hey your a typical liberal, you can never admit anything is your fault.

  • @bitter

Gramm-Leach-Biley act is the main culpit, all three are republicans. But the idea that caused all of this is the free market uber alles ideology of Reagan-Thatcher that led to this deregulation in the first place. AIG bonusses are completely irrelevant to all this no idea why you bring that up, anyway the only people defending those bonusses are incidently republicans.

  • hahahahha..you are angry by sending me some really dumb messages. It seems that whenever you watch this video of the Vietnamese-American Joseph Cao, you have to send anti-GOP and anti-Vietnamese messages to me and about this guy. Wow..you are a retarded 52-year-old.

  • He is, I doubt hes 52, hes behaving like a 7 yr old, especially his spelling, grammar and punctuation.

  • I am in complete shock. Wow, a Vietnamese-American Republican actually won in an overwhelmingly Democratic district. You made me proud as an Vietnamese-American. Keep up the good work. I hope and pray that you will win again in 2010. You have my full support.

  • Thats what I said!!! In a majority black district in Louisiana of all places!

  • I agree. He made me to be a proud Vietnamese-American. However, he must be honest and work hard in order to be re-elected again. If not..then he will be a goner. I offer my support for Joseph Cao.

  • Congratssss Man!!!!!

    Make us Proud!!!!

  • I can't belive he won in a district where 2/3 registered voter is a democrate! Good for him! Even though I am a democrat, I might have voted for him. As an asian american, I am so proud of him.

  • I am a liberal Democrat, but I'm absolutely thrilled you defeated that crook. Congratulations on your victory and being the first Vietnamese-American elected to Congress!

  • Holy shit! I voted for him, but I didn't think he'd win. Awesome!

  • good for you!!! your vote counted

  • congrats to joseph cao!!!

  • Good riddance, Mr. Jefferson. Enjoy federal prison.

  • Wow man we won!!!!

  • I'm absolutely thrilled! It looks like Mr. Cao's going to pull off a stunning upset! Yes!

  • Physics degree? I rejoiced when I got Ds in that Sir.

Win one for Gipper my man.

    Geaux Cao!

  • I agree, Mo man! =0)
