There's rules folks, that makes it a game. A martial artist should be able to adapt to the game's rules. If it's points, then you should be faster, if it's bare knuckle you should hit better. Come on!!
LOL, rehearsed fights! That's a good one. I just call it as I see it, no disrespect to the fighters but their energy looks unfocused and ragged. These guys look like their novice division. I'm a USSD student. I got respect for dojos everywhere but if I see a good fight or an ugly looking brawl I'm going tell it as I see it.
id say these were in the advanced division sparring is not as easy as it looks, these people probably have full time jobs how good do you expect them to be, you obv havnt done much sparring ..
I haven't been doing martial arts for long but I spar as much as I can when I get the opportunities. I'm probably just as sloppy but hey...I'm being honest. We all learn from experience and learn to be better fighters.
your wrong they are novices. one of em is my junior student. this was his first tourn. he took first place in his division. ( the one in white ) he had started to practice only 9 mos before this.
your right they are sloppy. the fighter in white had 9 mos of training before this tourn. tournament sparring is not fighting any ways. they are moving well
Vpeku, Basic karate form? you don't even know what your talking about =/...this is sparring, and from the looks of it it seems similar to the kung fu way of sparring...stop tryin to sound like a kung fu prophet, and go back to your tiger shomens.
ive practiced shito ryu for 4 years and ive fought a couple of gung fu fighters who fight like this. in the beginning their sloppy sport fighters, but as they advance they become quick and accurate. so keep it up,it looks okay for a begginer
I don't see much intercepting.

Real Kung Fu sparring has no protective gear.

for proper kung fu sparring my school uses gloves with fingers.

that wasn't really kungfu. it was basic karate form. either these people really suck or it's not kungfu at all.
Vpeku 3 years ago
Considering we were only beginners, I agree we sucked. It was supposed to be Kung Fu though. :)
